Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran is to guest star in the latest season of Game Of Thrones. The Shape Of You singer will appear in the upcoming seventh series of the fantasy drama, to surprise actress Maisie Williams who plays the role of Arya Stark in the show.
The show runners David Benioff and Dan Weiss announced the good news at the South by Southwest film festival during the weekend in Austin Texas.

Benioff said: “For years we were trying to get Ed Sheeran on the show to surprise Maisie and this year we finally did it.”
It’s not the first time Games of Thrones has had guest appearances from musicians. In the past, Will Champion from Coldplay and Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody have both starred.
Weiss added: “A lot of music artists say they would they would like to [be on the show], and then we tell them shooting a scene is so boring.
“‘You’re gonna hate this you’re going to be sitting around three days for 12 hours a day.'”
His role has not been announced yet, and the show would return in July.
