Kunle Afolayan was recently awarded the ‘An Icon in the African Entertainment Industry’ award in Houston.
“The CEO” filmmaker received the award at Afro-Heritage Broadcasting and Entertainment Awards (AHBEA), an annual event created to celebrate African artistes that has made serious impact in entertainment industry.
The 2016 edition of event was hosted by Seyi Law, was also attended by Odunlade Adekola, Sunny Ade, among others.
Kunle Afolayan’s latest movie, “The CEO,” features Wale Ojo, Lala Akindoju, Angelique Kidjo, Aurelie Eliam, Hilda Dokubo, Jimmy Jean Louis, Peter King, Nico Panagio among others.
According to Afolayan, he borrowed 50 million naira from Bank of Industry to produce the movie which premiered 30,000 feet into the air on June 1, 2016.
“The CEO” premiered in Nigeria on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
