Mariah Carey‘s failed Times Square New Year’s Eve performance, her team and Dick Clark Production (DCP) have been going back and forth on who to put the blame on for the singer’s bad performance.
The singer’s team claimed that Mariah complained that the sound from her ear piece was ‘choppy’. Carey’s team said DCP assured her that the issue will be fixed by the time she goes on stage.
But as soon as the singer hit the stage on Saturday, sound problems affected her general performance.
The team also debunked accusations made by DCP that Carey didn’t show up for vocal rehearsals. They said that she was available for her rehearsal and sound check and she was even prompt.
In corroboration of the team’s story, People reported that TMZ posted photos and a video where Carey was rehearsing with her back up dancers before her performance.
Dick Clark Productions however made a statement against this claim saying Mariah Carey refused to do sound check. They stated that it was possible for technical errors to affect live performances but that had not been the case with Mariah’s performance.
