Pochettino calls for Jackson support, says player is suffering

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has called on fans to be more understanding and support club’s striker Nicolas Jackson. In a social media post by football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Pochettino said the player is now suffering following last encounter at Stamford Bridge involving a fan who asked him “why don’t you score goals?” “For different reasons, Jackson is now suffering. Nico needs support. I believe in him, really. “Only problem is time. I don’t want to give examples, but he arrived at Chelsea in a situation that is not easy for him. We cannot be unfair in the analysis,” Pochettino said. Former England striker Alan Shearer is among many that have criticized the player. He claimed that Jackson was not a “natural goalscorer” and needed help in that position. The defeat against Brentford was Chelsea’s third at home this season, leaving them 11th in the Premier League table. The Blues were booed off the pitch by their fans after the match. Jackson who joined Chelsea from Villarreal in the summer for £32m, has scored only three goals in 11 appearances for the club this season.
