Recall that Chelsea signed Enzo from Benfica for a record fee of £106.8m. The 22-year-old who only joined Benfica last summer for around £10m, signed an eight-and-a-half-year deal at Stamford Bridge which would keep him at the club until the summer of 2031. The deal also made him the most expensive signing in British football. Commenting on the deal, Murphy stated that Enzo Fernandez is not worth that amount as Manchester United and Manchester City stars, Casemiro and Rodri are better than him. Though he’s been sanctioned by the Portuguese side, 21-year-old Enzo who won the Young Player of the Tournament award at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, is already a player in demand.
