A 37-year-old Nigerian man based in India, Ndinojuo, attempted to end his life after receiving the tragic news of his parents’ death in a car accident.

According to a statement released by Delhi Police on March 26, 2023, the incident occurred on March 18, 2023, when Ndinojuo jumped from the second floor of a building in Nihal Vihar, outer Delhi. He was subsequently hospitalized and is said to be recovering. The police received a PCR call about the incident and upon arriving at the scene, found Ndinojuo injured and seeking assistance from bystanders. In his statement to the police, Ndinojuo revealed that he had been struggling with depression and that the news of his parents’ passing had caused him distress, leading to his attempted suicide. Neighbours were questioned and no foul play was suspected during the investigation.

A video making the rounds on social media captured a lady complaining about a banner in India that is against illegal Nigerians. The banner in question reads, ‘Say No To Illegal Nigerians’ which struck the lady as racist while ranting about sabotaging business with Indians. She further advised other Nigerians in the country to do the same and possibly return to their home country if such continues to arise.
