Super Falcons interim coach Justine Madugu says the team’s ready for their upcoming clash against Ethiopia in the 2024 Olympics qualifiers. The nine-time African champions had a 1-1 draw with Ethiopia in the first leg of the qualifiers held in Addis Ababa. Both teams are gearing up for the reverse fixture, set to take place at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja. Madugu emphasized the determination of his team to improve upon the previous result. It’s unfortunate not to win the first leg, but we are equally realistic with ourselves. “The girls have overcome those challenges and are really determined to make sure they are part of the Olympics next year,” Madugu said. Meanwhile, the winner of this second-round tie will face either Cameroon or Uganda in the subsequent round of the qualifiers.

The quarter-final and semi-final draw for this season’s Champions League was completed today, March 17.
Chelsea will play last season’s winners Real Madrid in the quarter-finals, with the winners facing either Manchester City or Bayern Munich following a top-heavy draw that produced two blockbuster ties. On the other side of the draw Napoli will face AC Milan in an all-Italian clash, while Inter Milan will play Benfica. It means one of those sides will reach the Champions League final.
Real Madrid defeated Chelsea in last season’s quarter-finals on their way to lifting the Champions League for the 14th time and Friday’s draw produced a repeat of that tie. Manchester City’s quest to win their first Champions League title will also have to be done the hard way, with Pep Guardiola’s side facing German champions Bayern Munich before a potential rematch with Madrid in the semi-finals.
