La Liga club, Sevilla has terminated former Real Madrid star Isco’s contract which was supposed to run until 2024.
30-year-old Isco who is now a free agent has not been getting enough play time under Jorge Sampaoli, who replaced former manager Julen Lopetegui who encouraged him to sign for the club following his exit from Real Madrid.
The footballer whose poor form saw him fall out of favour with Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti was often criticized during Sevilla’s abysmal start for the season.
A statement on Sevilla’s official website which confirmed that Isco’s contract has been terminated, read;
“Sevilla FC and the footballer Isco Alarcón have agreed to terminate the contract that had united both parties since the player joined last summer after finishing his spell at Real Madrid. The club wants to wish Isco all the luck in the world in his new professional challenges.”
