Former Manchester City captain, Vincent Kompany has reacted to the report of his former club being charged with over 100 financial breaches by officials of the Premier League. Kompany slams Manchester City critics after Premier League charges The charges slammed against the club came after an investigation carried out over a four-year period. The case has now been passed to an independent commission that will determine whether any further action is required. If the charges are proven to be true, then City could be deducted points or even relegated from the top flight. Speaking to reporters, Kompany who is now Burnley’s coach said he’s standing firmly by Manchester City during this difficult phase. He also lashed out at critics who are “pointing fingers”. No doubt there’s a lot of righteousness in the world to come and tell you what you’ve done wrong, and then if everybody looks at themselves, I think the football industry in general is not one that can afford to point the finger too many times. “I think all of you will have a little bit of a smile on your face to know what the football industry is about. I’m very sceptical when people start pointing fingers. Do the best for yourself and let’s try and improve all the time but I’m a little bit sceptical when the fingers get pointed easily.”
