Veteran singer, Robert Kelly, better known as R. Kelly has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for child sex crimes by a federal judge.
This comes after a jury found that he had produced three videos of himself sexually abusing his 14-year-old goddaughter. It will be recalled that the singer is already serving 30 years after a jury convicted him of racketeering and sex trafficking charges. During court, U.S. District Judge Harry Leinenweber ruled that Mr. Kelly would serve nearly all of one sentence simultaneously with a previous 30-year sentence which was imposed last year on racketeering charges from his Brooklyn case.

Federal prosecutors had argued that the 56-year-old deserved 25 years in prison on top of his earlier sentence. The singer’s “lack of remorse” was cited as a reason he would pose a danger to society if released.
