Imo State University (IMSU) has suspended a lecturer at the Physiology Department, Dr. Desmond Izunwanne, following allegations that he assaulted and slapped a female student. The incident reportedly occurred when Ukamaka, a medical laboratory student, showed up in class wearing an outfit deemed inappropriate for the department. According to a press statement signed by Ralph Njokuobi, the Deputy Registrar Head of Media and Public Relations, IMSU management took swift action to suspend Dr. Izunwanne after a video of the incident was shared on social media. The suspension is effective immediately, Gist Reel gathered. The video, which was reportedly recorded by Ukamaka’s classmates, shows the lecturer repeatedly slapping the female student. The incident has sparked outrage on social media, with many calling for the lecturer to be punished. In its statement, IMSU management condemned the incident and assured the public that it would not tolerate any form of violence or abuse against students. The university also urged students to report any incident of assault or harassment to the appropriate authorities See the statement below; ”It has come to the notice of the Management of Imo State University the viral video circulating the globe about the indecorous actions of a lecturer of the University, Dr. Desmond lzunwanne of the Physiology Department, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences of Imo State University, Owerri against four students of the University. “Management views the action of the lecturer as barbaric and unbecoming of a person of his position. “At the end of the Management meeting held on Tuesday 2 May 2023, Management approved the suspension of the Lecturer Dr. Desmond lzunwanne till further notice and has set up a three-man Disciplinary Committee to unravel the immediate and remote causes that led to his uncouth behaviour. “The general public and indeed all Human Rights Organizations are hereby implored to allow the University conduct a proper investigation and recommend appropriate sanctions where necessary in line with the staff conditions of service. “Management will not accept any breach in the academic and moral standards expected of any lecturer irrespective of how highly placed he is in the University and sincerely believe in rules of engagement between lecturers and students. “The University is on top of the game as it affects the matter under review. Chelsea-linked Enzo Fernandez facing disciplinary action at Benfica
Argentinian football star, Enzo Fernandez has been subjected to disciplinary action by Benfica after missing two training sessions with the club.
Record reported that Benfica had asked Enzo to return to the club immediately after the World Cup which his country won, but he missed two training sessions without permission. He reportedly returned to Argentina to spend New Year’s Eve in his homeland after Benfica’s defeat to Braga on December 30.
Though he’s been sanctioned by the Portuguese side, 21-year-old Enzo who won the Young Player of the Tournament award at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, is already a player in demand.
It’s been also gathered that the player who is yet to return to Benfica, has agreed to sign for Chelsea in the January transfer window.

Comedian Basket Mouth has deleted the divorce statement he shared on his page a few days ago after his wife kept mute about it.
Recall that Basket Mouth took to his Instagram page to announce the end of his 12-year marriage with his wife, Elsie Okpocha.
The announcement by the comedian came as a shock to many as none anticipated that the love birds could be separated. According to the statement shared by Basket Mouth, it disclosed that both parties have agreed to go on separate ways.
However, it seems the wife of Basket Mouth isn’t bothered and is yet to react to the divorce statement by her husband as she shared a Christmas photo with her children without Basket Mouth and also shared a video talking about a trending topic on social media about ladies cooking for their boyfriends.
Following the wife’s weird reaction to the divorce post, Basket Mouth has deleted from his page the post he made a few days ago announcing their divorce.

Reality star, Pere Egbi has broken silence after he was accused of being in an amorous relationship with Governor Yahaya Bello’s wife, Rashida Bello.
Communication expert, Jackson Ude in a tweet had alleged that Pere and the First Lady of Kogi State are lovers and have been spotted several times at Hilton Hotels & Resorts in Abuja.
He also claimed that the first time they met, Mrs Bello gifted Pere N5M.
Reacting to the allegation, the ex-Big Brother Naija housemate in a recent tweet tagged the claim as a demonic lie and vowed to sue the journalist and those retweeting the claim.

Nollywood actor and director, Yul Edochie has lamented over attacks that trailed the unveiling of his second wife, Judy Austin and their son, Star.
In a post recently shared on his Instagram page, the movie star while stating how qualified he is to be the president of the country noted that despite being attacked by netizens, he hasn’t fired back at anyone and this is a true quality of a leader.
He further hinted at the fact that any action taken has a root cause.
In his words:

Popular American actor, Will Smith, broke down in tears during his Oscars acceptance speech shortly after hitting cmedian Chris Rock on stage. 
In what has turned out to be “the most awkward moment” in Oscars history, the actor took to the stage to hit Rock after the comedian made a joke about his wife, actor Jada Pinkett Smith.
Delivering a lengthy speech while accepting the prize for the best actor owing to his performance in the movie ‘King Richard’, Will Smith noted that “love can make one do [email protected] things”.
The actor added: “I’m being called on in my life to love people and to protect people and to be a river to my.
