Former Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has revealed details of disciplinary issues in the club’s dressing room. Matic, who joined Manchester United from Chelsea in 2017, drew comparisons between the two clubs’ standards, especially as it concerns the recent attitude of Erik ten Hag’s men. “At Chelsea, players acted professionally, they were punctual and were never late for training, but at United, it happened almost every day,” he told YU Planet YouTube channel. Matic recalled disciplinary issues involving players like Jadon Sancho and Paul Pogba, who he described as” habitual latecomers”.

The 23-year-old is reportedly considering a move, with a potential reunion with Pogba at Juventus in the next transfer window. Speaking further, Matic highlighted the disciplinary committee formed by players, to charge other players who were in the habit of coming late for trainings. “The rest of us who were always on time were angry, so we decided to form a kind of internal disciplinary committee with me serving as its president.” The committee collected fines, accumulating around £75,000 in one season, initially intended for a party in London, which was canceled due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Matic’s statements come in the wake of public scrutiny over the attitude of Manchester United players following a poor performance in their recent 1-0 loss to Newcastle.
