A 28-year-old man, Abacha Wezume, lost his life in a fatal auto accident just four days after announcing the news of his admission into the University of Port Harcourt, UNIPORT. The incident occurred on the fateful day of Friday, October 27, 2023, in Rivers State, leaving friends and family in mourning and shock. Abacha Wezume, who hailed from Aluu in the Ikwerre Local Government area of Rivers State, had taken to his Facebook account on Monday, October 23, to share the exciting news of his academic achievement.
He proudly announced his acceptance into UNIPORT, a dream he had been ardently pursuing for several years. “Congratulations to me. Unique UNIPORT, thank you. Have just been offered admission,” he posted on his Facebook page. Tragically, Abacha Wezume’s celebration of his academic accomplishment was short-lived.
Just hours before the fatal accident, he updated his Facebook status, expressing a sense of invincibility. “I’m untouchable. I will live to glorify His holy name,” he wrote. The news of his untimely demise has sent shockwaves through his circle of friends and family who were deeply affected by the tragic loss.
