The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has commenced an investigation into the news of recalled noodles by Taiwan and Malaysia authorities. It was reported days ago that Taiwan and Malaysia authorities discovered ethylene oxide, a cancer-causing agent, in the product. Reaffirming a ban on importation of Indomie noodles, the Director-General of the Agency, Prof Mojisola Adeyeye, said on Monday, May 1, that the Director of the Food Lab Services Directorate has been engaged and has started working on the methodology for the analysis. It is also expected that the agency’s Food Safety and Applied Nutrition Directorate will on Tuesday, May 2, randomly sample Indomie noodles including the seasoning from the production facilities while Post Marketing Surveillance Directorate samples from the markets. Adeyeye said; ”Indomie noodles have been banned from being imported into the country for many years. It is one of the foods on the government prohibition list. It is not allowed in Nigeria, and therefore not registered by NAFDAC. “What we are doing is an extra caution to ensure that the product is not smuggled in, and if so, our post marketing surveillance would detect it. We also want to be sure that the spices used for the Indomie and other noodles in Nigeria are tested. “That is what NAFDAC Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (FSAN) and Post Marketing Surveillance (PMS) are doing this week at the production facilities and in the market, respectively.” The NAFDAC DG also promised that Nigerians will be duly updated with the outcome of the investigation.

Lazio fans banned for life over ‘Hitlerson’ shirt and anti-Semitic gestures

Lazio has announced that some of its fans who put fascist salutes during Sunday’s derby match against AS Roma have been banned for life. During the match which Lazio won, thanks to a solitary Mattia Zaccagni strike, some fans were seen making fascist salutes and singing anti-semitic chants. A fan was also spotted in viral footage, wearing a Lazio shirt with ‘Hitlerson’ written alongside the number 88 at the back. In a statement released on Wednesday, March 22, Lazio said they’ve been collaborating with authorities and were able to identify the individuals involved. As a result, three supporters were issued a lifetime ban. The statement read; “In the course of Sunday’s match, Lazio v Roma, and in the days immediately following, three people were identified who were the protagonists of behaviour that had nothing to do with supporting and which manifested forms of discrimination and anti-Semitism. “Thanks to the collaboration between Società Sportiva Lazio, its own security service, stewards and the police, also through the use of the surveillance cameras at the Stadio Olimpico, it was possible to quickly identify a person wearing the shirt with the number 88 bearing the inscription “Hitlerson” and two others who ostentatiously made the gesture of the Roman salute”. It is not the first time anti-semitism has dominated the Rome derby, with references to Jewish prisoner of war Anne Frank often abhorrently referenced by Lazio supporters to their Roma neighbours.

Nigerian dancer, Korra Obidi, has revealed why she was banned alongside her ex-husband, Justin Dean, from posting their children, June and Athena, online. Recall, in a court document dated January 19th 2022, the ex-couple were banned from posting videos, photos or live-stream of their children, or any content that has their children in it on social media until further notice.

However, in a recent post, a follower questioned Korra to know if her last daughter, Athena, had already started walking. Mourinho’s assistant banned for a month after rant at match officials

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has confirmed that AS Roma’s coach, Jose Mourinho’s assistant, Salvatore Foti has been banned from the touchline for a month. Foti was banned from the touchline for a month after losing his temper after Roma’s defeat to Cremonese in the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup. He is accused of engaging in offensive rants at match officials, threatening behaviour towards the Cremonese manager, and yelling blasphemous insults after he was sent off. The FIGC further revealed that Mourinho’s 34-year-old assistant went to the referee’s dressing room after the game where he indulged in “further offensive expressions in a threatening tone”. This is not the first time that Foti has found himself in hot water. Mourinho was forced to apologize for his assistant’s actions back in April of last year after he mocked Salernitana and told a member of their staff they would soon be relegated. Foti will now miss Serie A games against Empoli, Lecce, and Verona as well as the trip to Cremonese at the end of the month.

Moises Caicedo has reportedly been banned from training by Brighton after he took to Instagram to make a public plea for him to be sold to some big clubs that have expressed interest in him.

The Ecuadorian midfielder is at the heart of a huge furore with a number of clubs chasing his services. Chelsea has expressed an interest in him and it was also gathered that Arsenal’s big-money bid for him was rejected by Brighton. As a result, Caicedo will not be part of the Brighton squad to face Liverpool in the FA Cup on Sunday, January 29, but the Seagulls expect him back in training on February 1 and are still counting on him as part of their squad for the remainder of the season. The Seagulls currently sit sixth in the Premier League under Roberto de Zerbi. They are just five points behind fifth-placed Tottenham with two games in hand. Despite their impressive form throughout the majority of the campaign, the Seagulls have been decimated by an array of outgoing transfers. On Tuesday, popular Nigerian comedian, Bovi Ugboma revealed that he was banned from entering the United States.

Narrating the circumstances that surrounded the restriction, the comic star revealed that the ban followed the moment he clashed with a visa-issuing officer and got labelled.

This, he said, while replying to questions from fans after he hosted a Question and Answer segment on his Instagram story.
When asked by a fan to come to Massachusetts to perform, the father-of-three replied: “I’m banned in the USA.”
His reply to another fan who asked him if he intended to leave the country reads: “I am a citizen of the world. Except for Yankee where I’m banned.”
Giving more details on the incident, he said, “ Ill luck. Met a charity-like visa-issuing officer. Egos clashed. I was labelled. I go dey carry shoulder.”

The comedian had revealed in February 2022 that he was almost accused of stealing at a London hotel.
In his Q&A, the comedian also addressed the perceived beef between him and fellow comedian, Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY.
When asked by fans why he and AY don’t perform at each other’s show, the comedian made reference to American comedians.

Will Smith banned from the Oscars for 10 years over Chris Rock slap

Following the controversial Chris Rock slap, popular Hollywood actor, Will Smith, has been banned from the Oscars for 10 years.

The actor’s ban was confirmed by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in a letter to members sent out on Friday, indicating that the 94th Academy Awards had been “overshadowed by the unacceptable and harmful behaviour we saw Mr Smith exhibit on stage”.

Will Smith will not be allowed entry to any Academy events for the next ten years.
The Academy penned:
“This action we are taking today in response to Will Smith’s behavior is a step toward a larger goal of protecting the safety of our performers and guests, and restoring trust in the Academy.”
Recall that the ‘King Richard’ star had slapped stand-up comedian, Chris Rock on stage; Although he later apologized for his actions and resigned from the academy.
