The presidential candidates for the opposition parties have sued the All Progressive Congress (APC) and INEC over alleged rigging of the elections.  “On May 29th, there would be a peaceful formal transfer of power to the new President,” Boss Mustapha, chairman of the transition committee, has said. Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the presidential candidate for APC, Bola Tinubu with a total of 8,794,726 whereas his other rivals and candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, polled 6,984, 520 and 6,101,533 respectively.

The chairman of the transition committee, Mustapha told journalists, “all litigation, whether resolved or not, will not in any way stop the process”. He added that Buhari will not stay beyond the time allowed by the constitution. “The security committee has the responsibility to ensure that nothing happens to truncate the transition process. Nigerians are very law-abiding people”. “There are provided avenues for those” who lost in the election “to make whatever legal inquiry they want to make but the process would continue unabated”. We would not create another constitutional crisis; on May 29, the handing over will take place,” he assured.

It is no longer news that come May 29, the transition of power from President Muhammadu Buhari to the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, and the Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima would take place. However, Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi is currently challenging the electoral process in court. Regardless, the Chairman of the Transition Committee, Boss Mustapha, stated that no court case can stop the handing over. This he told newsmen in Abuja on Monday, March 28.

He said: “The committee has been active and the refurbishment of offices for the President and Vice-President elect has been completed. The facility at the Defence House is ready. Security personnel of the Department of State Services and the Nigerian Police Force have also been deployed to the President and Vice-President elect. Protocol officers have also been assigned to both the President-elect and Vice-President-elect from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Intelligence Agency. The transition process is on course and all efforts are being made to ensure that it is smooth. On May 29, there would be a peaceful formal transfer of power to the new President. He follows me around, not that he’s monitoring me, but he wants to make sure I’m safe. I will just say he loves me too much. Because of this issue of Osinachi. I told him, if he gets tired of me.
Instead of punishing me physically or emotionally, he should return me to my papa house. He responded that he will never get tired of me cos he loves me genuinely.
I asked him, what if I get tired of you, he said divorce is not an option. I told him what if I ask for divorce. He said he will never grant me. That we belong to each other forever.
He said he will never allow another man have me. He will kill me and kill himself. Ceetee nation, how do you see this statement. We’ve been married for 8years with kids.
We’ve never quarreled up to 6times. He has never cheated on me, he has never lifted a finger on me. He has never raised his voice @ me. Am I safe here?”
