Two Nigerian women, Adaeze Jaye, 43, and Success Chamika, 23, were arrested by Pushkar police in the state of Rajasthan, India, on Friday, October 27, 2023, in possession of drugs. The duo was found in possession of drugs valued at over N63 million. The arrests followed a careful operation by law enforcement authorities, who seized a total of 65 grams of Mephedrone (MD), a potent synthetic drug, along with a substantial amount of cash, totaling Rs 65,000.

Additionally, a digital weighing machine was confiscated from the accused, suggesting their involvement in drug distribution. The estimated value of the seized narcotics is approximately Rs 6 lakh, according to the police. This significant quantity of Mephedrone, also known as MD or “Meow Meow,” is known for its stimulant and psychoactive properties and is considered a controlled substance in many countries, including India. Pushkar police station in-charge, Rakesh Yadav, confirmed that a case has been registered against both Adaeze Jaye and Success Chamika under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The investigation into their alleged drug trafficking activities has already begun. See below;

In a statement posted on the Facebook page of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Femi Babafemi, the Director of Media and Advocacy, the drugs were cleverly concealed within a sack of crayfish.

The statement partly read, “The teenage suspect was intercepted on Wednesday 12th July, during an outward clearance of passengers on Turkish Airlines flight TK 0624. “While being interviewed by operatives, Daberechi claimed he was a student on his way to Cyprus for studies, but upon a thorough search of his luggage, he was found possessing 7.2kg of whitish substance neatly concealed inside a sack of crayfish. A field test of the substance however proved it is Methamphetamine.”

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has intercepted some military hardware and uniforms at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

The items were seized by customs officers attached to the airport cargo command. Customs area controller, Sambo Dangaladima paraded the seized military hardware at the command in Ikeja on Tuesday. Dangaladima said the hardware was imported from South Africa by a suspect identified as Olaolu Marquis, who had been arrested. The seized hardware are 309 pieces of military helmets, 106 pieces of military armless jackets, 352 pieces of ballistic body armored pad, 119 pieces of police badges, five pieces of bulletproof jackets, 33 pieces of body side ballistic pad, and 105 pieces of ballistic chest plates.

Dangaladima further stated that the hard drugs originated from India and Pakistan and were routed through Addis-Ababa to Lagos. The customs area controller said the seized drugs with a duty-paid value of N13,827,775,560 have been handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). “We are very much mindful of the fact that 2023 is an election year in Nigeria; the inflow traffic of these hard drugs that induce our youths to do extraordinary things (when taken) are bound to increase,”  “But I can assure the unscrupulous importers that MMAC is the most dangerous route for their illicit trade because we are always here to catch them and ensure that they face the wrath of the law. “In total obedience to the directives of our able CGC – Rtd Col Hameed Ibrahim Ali, we are poised to continue intercepting and seizing the illicit products – especially hard drugs as they come, he said.

A Twitter influencer, Dr Penking who doubles as a medical doctor, in a tweet on the microbogging platform, shared a video of Portable climbing a cliff while he was dancing crazily.
In the video Portable’s hit music, “Zazuu”, was playing loudly in the background, his crew were dancing and hailing the singer, as he climbed up the platform to dance.
Dr Penking attributed the show performance to drugs as a result of Portable’s history of uneven actions, violent lifestyle and outbursts on social media.
In Dr PenKing’s words,
