Man obtains Canadian passport two years after vowing to secure dual citizenship for his kids

A Nigerian man has had his dream of becoming a citizen of another country actualized as he obtains Canadian citizenship, two years after vowing to ensure that his kids would have dual citizenship. In March 2021, the man, known as @_ThatCJ, took to social media to declare that he would ensure that his unborn kids have citizenship in another country other than his country of birth.

Even if it’s Madagascar I can afford, they’re better off as penguins!” Two years later, the man achieved his dream and returned to Twitter to give an update after securing Canadian citizenship. Babatunde Fashola, the Minister of Works and Housing, addresses the controversy surrounding the alleged dual citizenship status of President-elect Bola Tinubu. fashola tinubu Tinubu’s alleged Guinean diplomatic passport was recently circulated on social media, causing some online users to criticize him for allegedly lying under oath to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). During an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Fashola stated that the issue of dual citizenship should not be a cause for worry. “I know he carries Nigerian passport, I don’t know of dual citizenship, I know he resided in abroad when he went on exile, I don’t know if they gave him American citizen or not,” Fashola said.

Doesn’t it?”  On whether or not having dual citizenship goes against the constitution of Nigeria, Fashola, who served as Chief of Staff to Tinubu when the latter was Lagos governor, however, said he would find out. ”I will check that, but I doubt the Nigerian constitution makes you disentitled if you have dual citizenship because the constitution allows you to have dual citizenship,” he said.
