The actress took to her Instagram page to announce Babajide Sanwo-Olu as her choice to vote in the recently postponed gubernatorial election. Stating her reasons for being willing to vote the governor for a second term, Mercy Johnson insisted that the work of his administration is visible and verifiable. sanwo-olu “This is why my choice is Governor Babajide Sanwoolu; His efforts that have improved healthcare, women’s development, transportation, entrepreneurship, education, and infrastructure in Lagos State. His results can be seen and measured. Yes, there is still a lot of work left to do, I believe in my heart that he can and will do as he says,” she wrote. Netizens, however, lambasted the actress for throwing her weight behind Sanwo-Olu even though she maintained non-partisan during the presidential election. Nigerian football legend, Kanu Nwankwo has denied endorsing the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu.

The claim was made earlier by The Nation journalist, Sam Omatseye. Sharing a video of Kanu Nwankwo speaking during a meeting with Tinubu, Omatseye tweeted; “In year 2000, i wanted to start Kanu Heart Foundation.* *Peter Obi and all the Igbo Leaders refused to Help me.
