A Nigerian feminist has come out to celebrate getting married to her Nigerian boyfriend. The lady who shared this in a public post on her Twitter account, @BohemianBoujee, celebrated her marriage. The lady who identifies as a feminist had tweeted back in 2018 about her relationship with a Nigerian man who “doesn’t stress her”. This is quite surprising because lots of Nigerian feminists tend to disassociate themselves from Nigerian men due to their old-fashioned patriarchal views. However, this beautiful woman has found love and happiness in a Nigerian man. See post below… See reactions on the post… @ElvisClottey: “I pray for blessings upon your marriage. Success, good health and big opportunities flood your household. I pray for grace to tap into your blessing so I marry right. Amen.” @Eboobae_Okoli: “Nigerian Feminists, @ulxma @Rene_noire and their cohorts will be convulsing by now. Congratulations.” @ella_bosslady: “He looks like he won’t stress u tbh.” @duchesskk: “congratulations babe, both of you are incredibly well suited. May your love be forever in joy, mutual respect, deep admiration, good health and wealth.” @Mandi20Mandi: “You guys are so stunning: welcome to this awesome club despite the naysayers.”
I’m not a feminist – Ini Edo clears the air
Nollywood actress and movie producer Ini Edo has cleared the air on the misconstrued perception that she is a feminist.
There have been some perceptions that the co-producer of ‘Shanty Town‘ Ini Edo is a feminist. However, during an interview on the podcast, ‘Tea With Tay’. According to Ini Edo, she believes that the rights of women should be protected and that there is a necessity for equality between genders. However, she was brought up in a way that respecting men is of great value. She said: “I’m not a feminist, being a feminist means different things to different people, I love to protect women’s rights and I feel the need for equality. “But I’m also very structured and I am raised in a certain way, I am raised to respect men, I am raised to value men. I want to be a woman but I also want to be able to be a queen, you can be a king, and I am a queen; I am just comfortable in being a queen.”
Feminist rants as suitor suggests 50/50 split
A self styled feminist has narrated how a man had enraged her by suggesting they split bills equally. The lady with the handle @PrincessUkoko on Twitter revealed that she was in talking stage with a guy who said they’d have to split responsibilities seeing that she advocates feminism.
She stated that she had bashed him for suggesting this. According to @PrincessUkoko, relationships should be seamless, and not contractual. Excerpt from her tweet reads: “Randomly remembered how I was talking to this guy, first week or so of talking stage and he said something about me being feminist & how we should do 50/50. I don’t even know when I said “May the fire of the Lord consume you & the mouth you used to utter those words” Yes! I want women to work & support their partners financially, but ratio should not be defined, the support should be seamless & not contractual 😊 Me: I want women to support financially, but it shouldn’t be contractual.”
