Manchester United has been hit with a major injury blow as both Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez are expected to be sidelined until Christmas. United manager Erik ten Hag confirmed that Casemiro, who has been a vital player for his side, suffered a hamstring injury in a recent match against Newcastle. it was initially anticipated that he would be out for a few weeks, but his recovery is now said to be taking longer than expected. Martinez, on the other hand, has been dealing with an ongoing foot problem that was worsened during their game against Arsenal in September. 
Lisandro Martinez injury against Arsenal – Getty image Ten Hag had expressed his concerns about their injuries, stating, “Casemiro and Martinez are really strong injuries, I don’t expect them back before Christmas.” The absence of these key players for Manchetser United, add to their woes as, Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw, and Amad Diallo are also currently unavailable. Recall also, Jadon Sancho remains sidelined following a public dispute with the Ten Hag. Meanwhile, in light of these injuries, the Sun UK reports that there is possibility that the Red Devils will consider a transfer move for Guido Rodriguez of Real Betis as a potential long-term midfield option to bolster their squad.
Garnacho, who burst onto the scene under coach Erik ten Hag this season, was born in Spain and spent part of his youth career with Getafe and Atletico Madrid before moving to United. He represented the Spain Under-18s but then featured for the Argentina U20s and while he has been called up to the senior squad for their upcoming matches against Panama and Curacao, he is still free to choose between the two national teams. Garnacho is eligible to represent Argentina due to his mother being Argentine, but the Red Devils winger has not made a senior appearance in his international career. 
Martinez has however said that there is no chance of Garnacho turning out for La Roja. He told TyC Sports: “The truth is that Garna is an excellent boy, with a lot of personality because he is 18 years old and is starting in a very big team and with a lot of pressure, you have to have personality, right? That’s what I like about him, he’s going to play headline or enters 10, 15 minutes and gives the best of him. “[Garnacho] is with me here, forget about it. I’ll make sure [he plays for Argentina]. The only way is to go there with me.” 
Aston Villa was 3-2 down when Martinez decided to go to Arsenal’s box to try to covert the corner kick. Arsenal was able to win possession and the subsequent counter-attack allowed Gabriel Martinelli to roll the ball into an open goal to secure a 4-2 win. Commenting on Martinez’s decision to go to the box, Emery said; 
“Our game plan is, of course, quality really and on the pitch they have to take the decision. He decided in the last action to go to the corner offensively, but I don’t like it. But I told him nothing, before or after because in all my career I have never told our goalkeepers to do it and the statistical data is going against the teams that are going with the goalkeeper more than scoring any goals.”
