The travel enthusiast identified on Twitter as @Mochievous who’s enjoying her stay in Lebanon visited an eatery, Ritage Garden, in Beirut. She had ordered various meals which totalled 5,335000 in Lebanon pounds. @Mochievous who disclosed the figure on her Twitter page shared a photo of her receipt for netizens. She captioned it: “My lunch bill today was 5.3 million. Peep image for USD equivalent. I talk about Lebanon a lot and anyone who has followed my travels knows that it is a fav. Lebanon is so beautiful but is going through a tough time economically. If you do visit, please endeavor to tip generously. The people are lovely & kind. If you use Bolt to move around, please disregard the price the app gives you. It is not reflective of the current exchange rate. Ask the driver what they consider fair. No one would cheat you. ps: A good rule of thumb is to pay at least $5 for short trips within Beirut.”

A Nigerian man has revealed how he ended up paying over N7 million for a house which he initially thought was going for N2.8 million. According to him, he was earlier told that the house rent was N2.8 million and he excitedly paid in a hurry and start furnishing the apartment.

However, after further investigation, he found out that he had an extra bill of N2.1 million for electricity. The total amount he was supposed to pay for the house subsequently amounted to N7.3 million as opposed to the initial N2.8 million. He tweeted: “Saw a rent of N2.8m, and I rushed to pay. Only to find out later that the service charge for the year without electricity expenses is N2.1m. Lagos real estate companies 1 VS Harri 0.

A Nigerian man identified as @Theolade on Twitter has called out a Nigerian couple for allegedly scamming him of 27 million naira. He revealed the identity of the man who scammed him as Ajibola Daniel, adding that he was willing to give out 1 million naira to anyone who knows the whereabouts of Mr Daniel Ajibola and his wife.

He tweeted: “If you know the whereabouts of Ajibola Daniel and the wife and how | can get him, | will dash you 1 million Naira. These two people scammed me of 27 million Naira. Please help me retweet. Reported to @officialEFCC and they ignored & did not do anything.” See the post below:

An elderly woman has shared her joy over her land acquisition which is currently selling for N90 million naira. According to the woman, she bought the land 15 years ago for N1.5 million. At the time she made the purchase, the land was only used as a farm. In her words: “I bought a land 1.5 million, if you want I’ll bring the receipt for you 15 years ago. It’s currently selling for 90 million. It was somebody’s farm that I bought. There was corn, there was all sorts of things. I saw ridges there. Speaking on Thursday in Abuja at a One-Day Stakeholders’ Retreat On National Social Investment (Establishment) Bill organized by Senator Yusuf Yusuf, APC, Taraba Central led Senate Committee on Special Duties, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajia Sadiya Umar Farouq explained that the objective of the National Social Investment Programme Establishment Bill is to provide a statutory and institutional framework for the implementation of the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP). Represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Nasir Sani Gwarzo, Farouq who noted that the NSIP was created in 2016 by President Muhammadu Buhari to address social and economic inequalities and alleviate poverty among Nigerians, said that there are four social support programs that are meant to empower the poorest and most vulnerable Nigerians to enable them to attain an acceptable standard of living. She said: “Since the inception of the NSIP in 2015, one million youths have been empowered through the N-Power Programme and additional 500,000 others are currently undergoing various trainings under the program as approved by the President. The cash transfer has enrolled 1,975,381 poor and vulnerable households from the National Social Register into a National Beneficiary Register. The NBR alone has 9,841,700 household individuals in the 36 states of the federation. The Cash Transfer support the poor and vulnerable to improve consumption and develop savings skills to reduce poverty line and building their resilience to withstand shocks. A total of 1,940,004 beneficiaries are currently receiving cash transfer each monthly.”
