Adeyeye Hails Osinbajo’s Quiet Exit From Office

Prof Sola Adeyeye, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, has praised outgoing Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for stepping down peacefully and without the pomp and circumstance that politicians in this part of the world are accustomed to. This was said by the former Chief Whip of the 7th Senate in an exclusive interview with The PUNCH in Abuja on Sunday.

Photo Credit: @profosibanjo: Instagram This comes as the ex-lawmaker slammed the snide remarks that greeted a viral video of Osinbajo and his wife, Dolapo, arriving at the presidential wing of Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos from Abuja shortly after the nation’s capital’s handover ceremonies last week. ALSO READ: Fuel Subsidy: Electricity Workers to Go on nationwide strike “I have received, for the umpteenth time, a video of Prof and Mrs Osinbajo’s arrival at the Lagos airport,” Sen Adeyeye told our correspondent. The entrance was devoid of the pomp and fanfare accorded to holders of high political positions in Nigeria. Along with the video, there are some rude remarks. It would have been simple for Ym Osnbàj to do what most politicians do on a regular basis. He could have directed some of his staff and followers to organize a large gathering to greet him at the airport. He could have delivered Ankara bales, snacks, and chicken change to singing women and noise-belching males for far less than ten million nairas. “Needless to say, a politician’s capacity to stage such shows is directly correlated with the extent of his involvement in crude, appropriative, cash-and-carry politics,” he remarked, even as he prayed for God’s mercy to fall on the Professor of Law and his family.

How I sent cake to my babe’s workplace and she ate it with her ‘office husband’ – Man shares heartbreaking story

GistReel

Nigerian man has taken to Twitter to share his heartbreaking experience with long distance relationships.

How I Sent Cake to My Babe’s Workplace and She Ate It with Her ‘Office Husband

The man identified simply as Emeka, narrated how he had sent a cake to his girlfriend’s office to surprise her on her birthday, but the surprise eventually turned out to be on him. According to Emeka, his girlfriend ended up sharing the cake with her office boyfriend and eventually left him to marry the same colleague. This experience, he said, was the reason why he strongly believed that long distance relationships cannot work. Emeka’s story came as a response to a tweet from another Twitter user who had suggested that long distance relationships only had bad PR. But Emeka’s experience seemed to prove otherwise, and he did not hold back in expressing his frustration with the concept of long distance relationships. He tweeted; “Long distance that I sent surprise birthday cake to at her office that she ate with office boyfriend who she’s married to today? Don’t get on my last nerves.” The tweet quickly gained traction on social media, with many users sympathizing with Emeka and sharing their own stories of long distance relationships gone wrong. Some users, however, argued that Emeka’s experience was not necessarily representative of all long distance relationships, and that there were many successful long distance relationships out there. In reaction, @therealdaddymo1 wrote; Last last e Don cast, na everybody go chop breakfast. This one na full three course meal with dessert and take away join ☹️🫢😭 @_OluwaKemie wrote; Lol. 😂😂😂 this is what we call premium breakfast, served hot😀😂. My regime would continue to support you in every aspect including improving your welfare. “Let me also assure Nigerians, the Federal Government remains steadfast and committed to winning the war against insurgency and other forms of criminalities. We will not relent until we have a new Nigeria that is free from the terrorism menace” Major General Bashir Magashi (retd.), the Minister of Defence, acknowledged that the effort to modernize the armed forces has been difficult due to the security and economic obstacles faced by the country. General Bashir’s Statement on Transforming the Armed Forces “It is worthy of note that the process of transforming the Armed Forces of Nigeria over the years has not been easy given the numerous multi-dimensional security and economic challenges facing the country. Notwithstanding, the current administration has security as a priority in its agenda, hence the need to equip the Armed Forces with all necessary platforms to ensure peace and security in the country.” “At this juncture, permit me to state that the complexity of crimes in various spheres of operation requires all actors both public and private to synergize efforts to safeguard the nation from every form of anti-establishment activities.
