Nigerian singer, Stanley Omah Didia, best known as Omah Lay, has sparked mixed reactions after revealing his current stand on religion. Recall that the singer, in a recent interview, acknowledged that he was formerly devout but had reverted to his previous ways after becoming well-known and wealthy.

Omah Lay described his upbringing in a Christian household and how, at one point in his life, he considered becoming an Islamic convert. He still believes in God, even if he is no longer religious, but he has chosen to prioritise humanity over religion. He claims that although he still respects and acknowledges the existence of his Creator, he is currently no longer interested in religion.

Omah Lay said that there is no proof that God or his servants wrote the holy book in order to support his position even more. In his words: “I think as soon as I made money I just switched, I just believed in God and respected God and became more human than religion, I just don’t enjoy religion anymore. Nigerian music producer, Pheelz recently clarified why he removed Omah Lay‘s verse from the song “Finesse”.

Originally, the song was a collaboration between BNXN, Omah Lay and himself. However, due to receiving numerous threats, Pheelz needed to drop the song quickly, so he consulted his manager.

Interestingly, at that time, Omah Lay was releasing a song he had created with another artist. He spoke with Omah Lay and explained that he had to remove his verse, which Omah Lay accepted without any issues.
