The Lagos State Government announces opposition to the exhumation of the body of Whitney Adeniran of Chrisland Schools for another autopsy.

This comes following a claim that the Chrisland Schools requested a second autopsy on the late student after the first report stated that she died of electrocution. According to a statement released by the Lagos State Government on its website on March 4th, the Ministry of Justice stated that it is aware of ongoing discussions about an alleged plan to exhume the body of Whitney Adeniran. The ministry stated that it has not received any official communication requesting an exhumation but If such a request is received, the ministry will oppose it. “Whilst we have not received any such official communication requesting for exhumation, however, if and when we do receive such a request, we shall be opposed to it. “The circumstances for exhumation under the Coroners’ Systems Law, 2015, do not arise in this case. “Additionally, it is not our intention to further traumatize the deceased’s family. “We are working closely with the police who have given their reassurance that the duplicate case file would be forwarded on March 6 to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions to aid speedy issuance of legal advice,” it added.

Whitney Adeniran, the deceased Chrisland student has finally been laid to rest amidst outflow of emotions and tears of sorrow.

It would be recalled that Whitney’s mum, Mrs Adeniran had raised alarm after her daughter died at her school’s interhouse sports on February 9th. Following an autopsy by medical experts, it was established that the little girl died of electrocution.

At her burial, it was a sombre atmosphere and her mother couldn’t hold back the floods of tears at the sight of her first child’s coffin. Friends, family and classmates of Whitney had gathered for the sorrowful event. Watch the video below:

This comes amidst allegations that the 12-year-old girl died due to electrocution which prompted the parents to seek the truth. In an audio making the rounds on social media, Whitney Adeniran’s father pleaded with the Chrisland schools’ principal to tell him the truth for closure’s sake. Mrs Amowo, however, insisted that she does not know more than what she was told by the first respondents and those who witnessed the death of the child.

The Lagos State government orders the closure of Chrisland School in Opebi, Ikeja, following the death of a 12-year-old student, Whitney Adeniran. In a statement released to the press on Sunday, February 12, 2023, the Commissioner for Education, Folasade Adefisayo, said the school would remain shut pending the outcome of a full investigation.

The commissioner expressed condolences to the loved ones and acquaintances of the deceased and offered prayers for her soul to rest in peace. However, he urged for calm and guaranteed that a thorough investigation into the matter would be conducted without any compromise. “No effort will be spared in investigating the incident,” the Commissioner for Education, Folasade Adefisayo stated.

A student of Chrisland Schools in leaked audio alleges that 12-year-old Whitney Adeniran was electrocuted during the school’s inter-house sports. Whitney Adeniran This comes after Chrisland Schools released a statement about the circumstances of the death of one of their students. A whistleblower claimed that her child who wasn’t a student of the school overheard what actually transpired. Speaking on her findings about the death of Whitney Adeniran, the parent wrote while sharing a leaked audio; Whitney Adeniran: “This is concerning the child that died in Chrisland few days ago. My 12-year-old daughter walked up to me and told me in her words ‘Mummy I do not know why people still attend Chrisland school’ and I asked why? She then told me a student had collapsed during their inter-house sport; I was surprised cos she doesn’t attend Chrisland so how did she get the information? She then forwarded a particular voice note on snap chat to me. I listened to it and I was devastated but kept quiet. In the voice note another Chrisland student was gisting her friends what happened at their inter house sport and the deceased child Whitney was mentioned. The child clearly stated that Whitney went to buy popcorn and cotton candy and touched one of the machines producing either cotton candy or popcorn and she was electrocuted. She collapsed immediately. And water was poured on her. The story Chrisland is giving is false I have the voice note as evidence.” Listen to the audio below …
