Accountant becomes Glo Festival of Joy house winner in Lagos

Twenty-four-year-old Hussain Kehinde Garuba, on Friday emerged the
latest landlord in Lagos as he received keys to his three-bedroomed
house courtesy of Glo Festival of Joy promo.

The graduate of Lagos State Polytechnic revealed that his aunt had
prophesied that a good thing was on the way for him barely 24 hours
before receiving the news that he had won a house prize in the ongoing

focus on the completion of his ICAN certification by next year. Said he, “I could barely sleep last night as I kept pondering what Glo
has done to me,” adding, “I would forever cherish the network”. Garuba’s
friends and family members dramatically turned the venue of the
presentation to a carnival ground singing and dancing to the good
fortune of their lucky relation.”

Lagos State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Mr Hakeem Fahm who came as Special Guest showered praises on Globacom for putting smiles on the faces of its customers across the country. He added that “what Globacom is doing is an incredible act of generosity, and it is worthy of emulation”. Globacom’s Regional Manager, Mr Jude Jacobs, encouraged Glo subscribers to opt into the promo by dialing *611# and continue recharging their lines in order to be eligible to win the various prizes.

Klopp says he doesn’t know why Wolves’ winner in FA Cup match was disallowed

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he felt Wolves should have won the FA Cup third-round match against his team on Saturday night, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

Wolves thought they had scored a late winner after defender Gomes Toti found the net with a backheel, but it was ruled out when Matheus Nunes was deemed to be offside.
There was however confusion as VAR had no camera angle available with any evidence to overturn the linesman’s decision.
Comparing the situation to a goal Liverpool conceded away at Arsenal back in October, Klopp sympathized with Wolves as he admitted he had thought it was a goal in play.
The Liverpool coach told reporters;

“I don’t really know (if it was a goal). On the pitch, I couldn’t see it so had no idea. I thought it was a goal. It was the player in the left corner. He might have been offside.

“We had a similar situation in the Arsenal game where one angle was missing. In the end everybody thought it was a clear offside but we couldn’t prove it because the angle was not there.
“I don’t know how these things can happen but it happened. So I understand the frustration of Wolves because you want to have the right decision in these moments like we wanted the right decision back then but I cannot say anything about it because I only saw one camera perspective.”
While the incident has led to more debate over the use of VAR, the two teams will be preparing to meet again in a replay at Molineux in a few days.

Latest Winner of Car Prize in Glo Promo Weeps for Joy in Ijebu Ode

At the Tuesday prize-presentation ceremony of the Glo Festival of Joy
promo in Ijebu Ode, car winner, Temitope Bakare, rolled on the floor and
shed tears of joy as she received her brand new car.
At the open draw where she had emerged the previous day, attempts by Glo officials to convince Bakare on phone that she had won the car were
rebuffed as she kept terminating the calls.

When the calls became frequent, she simply switched off her phone. The Glo officials therefore decided to pay the doubting customer a visit at her house located just about one kilometer to the Gloworld Outlet in Ijebu Ode.
The visit paid off as Bakare eventually realised that she had hit a
jackpot in the Glo customer appreciation promo. Explaining her initial
response she said, “When the calls kept coming and coming, I thought
they were from fraudsters. Though I dialed *611# short code and kept
recharging, I never thought I could win among millions of subscribers.
This was why I decided to switch off my phone to block further calls”.

The entire community erupted in jubilation at the presentation ceremony,
while her relations and neighbours hugged her in excitement.
Incidentally, the winning SIM was a gift from the winner’s 39-year-old
seamstress aunt, Mrs. Adijat Adesoye, who was also on hand with
Temitope ‘s 54-year-old father, Mr. Moroof Bakare, and other members of
the extended Bakare Family to receive the prize.
The State Commissioner for Finance, Honourable Waheed Odusile, who
graced the occasion said he was pleasantly surprised to see the quality
and quantity of prizes being presented to subscribers at the event. He
commended Globacom for taking special interest in the welfare of its
