A young lady has sparked a debate on social media after she defended her decision to never shower before going to work. The lady, who posted a TikTok video of herself getting ready for work, said that she had taken a shower the night before and saw no need to take another one in the morning. “If I take a shower by 2am, that is still morning/night. I’m not gonna take another one by 6:30am. I just think that’s super insane”, she said. The lady, however, remained unapologetic about her decision and has defended herself. “It’s easier when you wake up in the morning, you wash your face, put on some more deodorant and when you get back from work you shower,” she said. The incident has sparked a wider conversation about personal hygiene and the expectations placed on people in the workplace. Here are some reactions from netizens; @maryifeoma19 said:“Eeewwww.” @siop_ng reacted: “If dirty is a person.” See the video below:

The family of a young lady has accused KFC Lagos branch of hoarding the corpse of their daughter after she slumped and died at work. According to them, KFC has refused to show the family where the corpse of their daughter is. Family of lady who died at KFC. Photo credit: Instablog. Source: Instagram According to a family source, “She started working at KFC barely two months ago. On Friday last week, she was said to had slumped at about 11 PM. KFC claimed she just screamed and fell while trying to hang her washed clothes. According to them, they rushed her to the hospital, but the first hospital rejected her because of deposit, it was the second hospital that they took her to that pronounced her dead on arrival. KFC took her body to the morgue without informing her family. And as we speak, they are yet to show the family where they dumped her body. Even the police has refused to tell the family where the body is. We think they are trying to cover up something. We don’t think she fell just like that. KFC claimed she just screamed and fell but they didn’t call her family who lives near by. They took her to the hospital and still didn’t inform her people. She died and they took her body to the mortuary without informing her family. They ran to Festac police to make an entry without informing the family still. It was the police that later called the family on Saturday afternoon, telling her mom to come to the station that her daughter had issues at work. Only for the woman to get there and they just reluctantly told her that her daughter was dead. She wasn’t sick. In fact, she was very fine and healthy. We think it was electrocution (our assumption) because there was a statement a policeman made to the elder brother. He said and I quote: ‘oh, na you wey electric shock your sister for Festac.’ She was the only daughter of her family. She started working at KFC after she dropped out of nursing school.”

Man who gives neighbours free ride to work deals with them following refusal to pay amidst fuel subsidy removal
Young man narrates the approach he took to pass a message to his neighbour whom he used to give a free ride to work but refused to pay during fuel subsidy removal. A Twitter user identified as @kelz_realist took to the platform to narrate how he handled his neighbours who were being inconsiderate despite giving them free rides when fuel used to be cheap.

Credit: Stock Images He stated that he suggested the option of giving them a discounted rate other than free rides as fuel price moved from N180 per litre to over N500 but they refused. How I dealt with my neighbours who I used to give free ride “I usually give some of my neighbours free ride from Mowe to Berger to and fro work. I work at Bank Anthony way Ikeja and some of them work at computer Village, Allen and Opebi. For the past eight months, I’ve been giving them free ride daily without collecting a dime from them.
When my former car broke down, they didn’t contribute a dime to help me fix it. I fixed it myself, got frustrated and sold it and bought a new car. That period, they find their way themselves Immediately they saw I’ve bought another car, thru came back for their free ride again.
When Subsidy was removed, I have them a free ride for two days coz I still had fuel which I bought with the old price. The day I filled up my tank, I cried coz it drained me. I had to tell them that going forward, they’d need to start paying for the ride to and fro.
Two of the ladies said they can’t because we are neighbours and it doesn’t make sense for them to be paying for ride… The guys said they’d pay N500 daily from Mowe to Berger. I told them no problem. The following day, I left very early without waiting for them.
I picked 6 passengers going to Berger for N500 each. They were all excited and were praying for me coz I charged them very low. They said Mowe to Berger is now N700/N800. When they realise I was going to Ikeja, they added extra N200 and collected my number so I can be picking
Them daily. Yesterday, my neighbours gathered at my house to negotiate with me. I told them I’ve gotten new customers I now carry to and fro work daily. On each person now, I make N1400 x 6 = N8400. This has covered my fuel to work daily plus small money for breakfast.” I usually give some of my neighbours free ride from Mowe to Berger to and fro work. Edo civil servants rejoice as Obaseki reduces work days
In the wake of fuel subsidy removal by the newly sworn-in president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, fuel prices have increased astronomically, leading to a rise in the prices of goods and services and the overall cost of living in the country. Hence, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State announced on Tuesday that civil and public servants would have to commute to their workplaces from five days to three days a week in order to reduce expenses and hardship. Governor Obaseki in a statement made available to newsmen in Benin, said the measure was part of efforts to ease the sufferings currently faced by the people occasioned by the fuel subsidy removal. He said “The Edo State Government shares the pains of our people and wants to assure everyone that we are standing with them in these very challenging times. “We want to reassure our people that we will do all within our powers as a sub-national government to reduce the pains and ameliorate the sufferings our people are currently facing due to the current realities. “As a proactive government, we have since taken the step to increase the minimum wage paid to workers in Edo State from the approved N30,000 to N40,000. “We hope to increase it even further if more allocation accrues to our state from the Federal Government in view of the expected savings from the removal of the fuel subsidy,” the governor said. According to him, we know the hardship caused by this policy which has increased the cost of transportation, eating deep into the wages of workers in the state. “Therefore, the Edo State Government is hereby reducing the number of work days that civil and public servants will have to commute to their workplaces from five days to three days a week till further notice. “Workers will now work from home two days every week. “Similarly, for teachers and parents, their commuting to school will be reduced as the government is working on deepening the [email protected] initiative. “To create more virtual classrooms, thereby, reducing the cost of commuting on parents, teachers and pupils. “The Edo SUBEB will provide details on this initiative in the coming days,” Obaseki said. He said that to lower the rising cost of energy on the people, the state government would continue to work with the electricity companies in the state to improve power supply to homes and businesses. “Similarly, fiber optics connections are being made available to help our people work remotely, thereby reducing their cost of transportation,” he said.
