Premier League players all absent from FIFA’s 2016 team of year.
The FIFProXI , FIFA’s 11 best players was announced on Monday at the inaugural Best Fifa Awards ceremony that took place in Zurich and no Premier League-based players was selected.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez made up the front line, while Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos spearheaded the defence, other big names in the starting eleven were Dani Alves, Luka Modric and Andres Iniesta.
“I am glad to be again in the World 11”, Ronaldo said. “It means a lot to me. It shows that the work I have done is unbelievable. It is not a coincidence that I have been included for the 10th time. I want to thank all the players for voting on me.”
