Former England and Chelsea midfielder, Frank Lampard has disclosed his intention to leave New York City FC.
The Briton whose contract expires at the end of the year said on Instagram that his time at the Major League Soccer (MLS) side had “come to an end”.
He further added that he would reveal “the next stage” of his career “very soon”.
The 38-year-old has made 31 appearances and scored 15 goals for New York.
His side was defeated 7-0 on aggregate by Toronto FC in the league soccer play-offs in November.
Lampard had said in an interview that he was keen to move into coaching.
He signed a deal with New York City in July 2014, before moving to Manchester City on loan in August.
The Ballond’Or runner up departed Chelsea for the MLS side in 2014 as the club’s record scorer with 211 goals.
