GRV accuses Yoruba leaders of being quiet during herdsmen invasion

Governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour alias GRV, accuses Yoruba leaders of playing politics while referencing herdsmen invasion. GRV criticized politicians who seek to divide the inhabitants of Lagos State by claiming that it solely belongs to the Yoruba people during an interview on Channels Television on Thursday, March 09, 2023. The LP candidate stated that such politicians have ulterior motives, and his statement is in contrast to the stance of some APC stakeholders, including former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode, who insist that Lagos solely belongs to the Yoruba people. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour argued that it contradicts the notion that Lagos is a no man’s land while referencing the silence of some Yoruba leaders during the herdsmen invasion in some parts of Nigeria. In his words; “Lagos State has been in harmony for a long time. What happens is politicians try to divide us. Let us be wary of politicians who remember that they are Yoruba when it is time for politics. “When Fulani herdsmen were making incursions into Oyo and people like Sunday Igboho, and Rotimi Akeredolu stood up, a lot of politicians in Lagos were quiet. They played politics with it. GRV added, “When it was time for Amotekun, they were quiet. They were quiet on so many interests of the Yoruba people because they wanted an alliance with the north. “So, they put their political interest above the interest of their people. And all of a sudden, it is election time and they are reminding you that this person does not speak Yoruba.”

Peter Obi accuses INEC of not allowing them inspect electoral materials

Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi has said that he would be putting a hold on his whistle-stop campaign for governorship and state assembly candidates of the party today, March 8, following the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) refusal to allow them to inspect the materials (including BVAS) from the February 25 presidential elections.

Recall that Labour Party and Peoples Democratic Party were granted access to inspect sensitive materials used by INEC in the presidential election by a Court of Appeal. Obi, in tweets he shared, said he would be accompanying his lawyers to court over the issue. He also urged his supporters to vote for all Labour party candidates in the forthcoming election. The tweet read; “I am supposed to commence our whistle-stop campaign for our various Labour Party Governorship and State Assembly Candidates today. Initially, my trip was to take me to Nasarawa, Lagos, Enugu, Abia, Delta, Edo, Rivers, Plateau, Borno, etc.

“However, following INEC’s refusal to allow our party to inspect the materials (including BVAS) from the 25th February presidential elections, I am personally heading to the Court today with our lawyers. “As we pursue due process and defer to the rule of law, I urge all the OBIdients in the various states to continue campaigning for our candidates, namely, Gbadebo Rhodes Vivour in Lagos, Chijoke Edeoga in Enugu, Patrick Dakum in Plateau, Alex Otti in Abia, Ken Pela in Delta, Ibrahim Mshelia in Borno, to name just a few. Adunni Ade accuses Koko Zaria of posing public threat to her life

Nollywood actress, Adunni Ade has called out MC Oluomo’s aide, Koko Zaria, over an alleged threat to her life.

In an Instagram post that is currently trending, Adunni revealed she had contacted the US embassy in Nigeria, police, and other relevant authorities over the video made by Koko Zaria. She alleged that in the video, the National Union of Road Transport Workers in Lagos, Koko Zaria threatened to deal with her over her. She adds that this trails her comments on certain entertainers being paid money to campaign for a candidate in the 2023 elections. Adunni, however, urged members of the general public to be aware of the situation and hold Koko Zaria responsible if anything happens to her.

AAC withdraws from Presidential collation centre, accuses INEC of illegality

Before Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was announced as the winner of the 2023 presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the African Action Congress (AAC) withdrew its agent from the national collation centre in Abuja over alleged non-transparency by the electoral umpire.

In a statement released shortly after the withdrawal by Femi Adeyeye, the national publicity secretary of the party, AAC who fielded Omoyele Sowore as its presidential candidate, joined other political parties in accusing INEC of breaching the electoral law after it failed to upload result sheets at the (polling) unit levels to its portal. The statement read; “Section 60 (5) of the 2022 electoral act empowers INEC to prescribe guidelines for the transmission of election results. Pursuant to that subsection, INEC clearly stipulated in clause 38 of its regulations and guidelines that election results must be transmitted electronically via the BVAS after the announcement at the polling units. “Section 64 (4a&b) of the electoral act, 2022 lends further credence to the transmission to the iRev before they are announced to Nigerians. Why is the rule being bent at this time?

“Our national secretary who is also our national election collation agent has consistently raised this breach of the electoral act and INEC guidelines at the national collation centre but the INEC chairman keeps dodging addressing these concerns. “This is why we have decided to withdraw our collation agent from the charade and illegality going on at the national collation centre since our probing questions to the commission have remained unanswered till this minute. “We call on INEC to follow the law and its own guidelines and also call for the cancellation of results not uploaded, collated and read from the server, in accordance with the electoral act and guidelines. “Elections should be reconducted in areas ridden with vote buying, intimidation, violence, technical issues with BVAS and other malpractices stated by parties and independent monitoring bodies.”

The Labour Party has called out officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for allegedly manipulating and manufacturing results in states across the country particularly Lagos, Edo, Rivers and Imo.

LP national chairman, Julius Abure who decried the violence meted out on Labour Party supporters at a press briefing in Abuja, called for the cancellation of election results in states across the country which he claimed were “manufactured”. Abure also asked President Muhammadu Buhari to keep his word of ensuring the 2023 elections are free fair and credible.

He further reiterated that the party will only accept true results obtained at the polling units and not those “manufactured and manipulated”.

Bimbo Akinsanya accuses Iyabo Ojo of sleeping with Mc Oluomo

Notable actress, Bimbo Akinsanya, corroborates the claim of her colleague, Dayo Amusa, by accusing Iyabo Ojo of sleeping with the NURTW chairman, Mc Oluomo.

Dayo Amusa had taken to Instagram to subtly claim that a certain colleague of hers was a beneficiary of Mc Oluomo while calling the individual an ingrate. Iyabo Ojo, however, addressed the claim by stating her relationship with the union chairman and the gifts she ever received from him.

It all started in the comment section of an actor, Deyemi Okalanwon who said having sex four times a week isn’t enough for couples. Loan shark falsely accuses plumber of rape and theft over N9K debt

A loan shark identified as ‘Nice Naira’ is called out for falsely accusing its plumber of rape and theft following the due payment of N9K.

A Twitter user @lollypeezle took to the platform to accuse the loan shark of making a libellous claim at a client of theirs. According to the user, the plumber had requested a loan of N13K but received N9K and was imposed on him to refund N21K in seven days. Following the repayment due date, the loan app reportedly posted images of the plumber on Facebook with false claims of being a rapist and a fraudster. On a lengthy thread, Lollypeezle wrote; “Whatever you do in Life, please don’t take loans from yeye Loan companies like NICE NAIRA. Oloriibu ni won o. He was asked to pay about 21k within 7days. Someone tried get a loan of 13k, you credited him 9k and want 21k in 7 days and since he couldn’t pay up, they termed him a fraudster and a rapist.

This loan app and this is their representative who said “they will still do more”. How will paying that money now untarnish his image? Or is this accepted? I really want to do something about this but i don’t know where to even start. This is all shades of wrong.”

A University student faces embarrassment following the reaction of his mother who rejected a birthday gift of a Lexus car.

A video making rounds on social media captured the moment a mother expressed concern about the source of her son’s income enough to afford a car for her. Despite the overwhelming state of the woman on her birthday, she blatantly refused to accept the gift over claims of her son being a student. She, however, insinuated that her son was into internet fraud a.k.a yahoo yahoo; hence, her reason for refusing such an expensive gift.

Gundogan accuses Manchester City teammates of lacking desire to win

Ahead of a derby showdown with Manchester United, Ilkay Gundogan has accused his Manchester City teammates of having the wrong attitude and not showing the same desire that has brought them success in recent years.

Gundogan made the claim after Manchester City suffered a 2-0 defeat to Southampton during an EFL match. Sharing his recent findings with reporters, the German footballer said; “Definitely I would share that it was a lack of attitude, lack of confidence, lack of commitment you know. I feel like, especially today, but even in the last few weeks, we had games where we could have done better. “Maybe we’ve won games, but I feel like something was a little bit missing, something’s off.
