He has now agreed to accept Everton’s latest approach amid interest in him from Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest. He told the club’s website; “It’s been a long time coming to join such a massive club as Everton and it makes me proud. “I had interest from other clubs but there was a pull towards Everton because of the fans, the manager and the history of the club and it’s second time lucky for me. “I know I did not move to the club in January, that was because there was some uncertainty over the manager situation at that time, but I think it makes it even more beautiful for me to join now.” Arnaut Danjuma joins Everton on season-long loanArnaut Danjuma training with his Villarreal teammates. Lady calls out man for failing to pay back 11 million naira loan

Man Lady Pay Back

An abroad-based lady has expressed her frustration with a Nigerian man named Olu, who owes her a significant amount of money and is refusing to pay back. According to the lady, she met 0lu several years ago and had an on-and-off relationship.

In December 2021, Olu asked for a loan to invest in a cigarette business, promising to pay back the money. She agreed and sent around N4,796,000 to cover expenses. However, 0lu failed to sell the cigarettes and claimed that the market was unfavorable. In May, he approached her her for another investment, but she refused due to the outstanding debt. Olu continued to make excuses and provided no timeline for repayment. The lady tried contacting 0lu’s brother, who acknowledged the debt but later blocked her. Olu mentioned being arrested, claiming that the purchased cigarettes were seized, and threatened to block the her and pay back when he had the money. Frustrated, the she takes to social media to seek help. Her statement reads: “Hi Twitter, it’s been 3 days since I gave @kingt0lu an ultimatum to reach out on how he intends to pay me back the money he owes me and he has failed to do so, this has left me with no other option than to post my story and let the world know the kind of terrible human he is.” “I met @kingt0lu about 7-8years ago on the streets of Twitter if I am not mistaken, we got talking, it almost led to something but it never worked out.” “It was mostly an off and off thing up until the beginning of 2021 when he began professing his love for me and I decide to give it a try but it was always countless fights and still never worked out.” “We kept been good friends still. Then fast forward to sometime in December 2021, when he was complaining bitterly about how he had to renew his 21/2 years residency in the UK which was about £2k and he has given his brother Tobi most of the money he had as wedding contribution as he was getting married in a few weeks.” “I asked for his PayPal Acct, sent him $2k and he received about £1400 in his UK Acct. This was out of the goodwill of my heart as I had enough money to support someone I’ve known for a while.” “He thanked me saying how in his entire life a woman hasn’t helped him before. Fast forward to April 2022, we were on a call as per usual and he made mention of how he was in Nigeria a month earlier but it was a short business trip hence why he couldn’t reach out.” “Out of curiosity I asked him what business it was, he hesitated at first and then decided to spill.” “He made mention of how a male nurse in the UK usually pays them £1k for coming to Nigeria to get boxes of cigarettes to bring back to the UK to sell.” “All the nurse has to do is pay your flight ,accommodation and feeding, you fly into Nigeria with 3 empty boxes and his cigarette plug in Nigeria would send his boys to deliver the (cigarettes).” “After that you’ll go to the airport, your boxes would be cleared & you fly, then I asked him “is this business safe? Is it legit?” And then he goes “Yes”.” “He further made mention of how the nurse sends over 10 people to Nigeria in a week to bring in cigarettes and there’s no issue or whatsoever.” “I didn’t see any reason to question him any further as smoking cigarettes is legal both in Nigeria and in the UK. I’m like fair enough.”  “Then he goes “can I borrow him some money?” He’s financially strained now and would want to make money from a Side hustle as his mom was ill and as the 2nd of three boys he has to support one way or the other.” Then I asked him how much he would like to borrow ,he said he doesn’t know the exact figures yet.” “All I need to do is pay for his flight, accommodation, feeding and the cigarettes he’s coming to buy after which I’ll do the calculations and send to him in order for him to know how much he’s gonna pay me back.” “He made mention of how there’s a particular brand of cigarettes that people are buying and he would want to purchase that exact type so he can quickly sell off and pay me back within a week. I said fine, sounds like a plan!”  “I obliged, paid for the necessary things and he flew into nigeria on the 23/04/2022. The next day he asked me to send some money to the guy who sells the cigarettes , I did and they delivered.” “I sent him the entire bill of what I sent to the accounts he asked me to and it totaled to about N4,796,000, he assured me I would get back my money as soon as he got back to the UK.” “A few days later he flew back to the UK and I asked him how far with the goods, hasn’t he sold them When is he going to pay me back?” As that money was part of my fees for my http:// M.sc in the UK, and then he goes “he hasn’t gotten who would buy it but as soon as he does he would send back my funds ASAP” I said okay “no worries”.” “I didn’t want to put pressure on him as I knew what he was going through. Fast forward to sometime early May again, he reached out to me and made mention of how they’re some Europeans in the UK who are interested in buying Benson and Hedges cigarettes as the brand is scarce in the UK and he would love to come to nigeria to get some so he could sell to them to make cool cash But the problem he has now is capital.” “Would I be interested in investing my money again? I then said to him, how do I invest my money again when I haven’t gotten back the previous one?” “He then said I know how the market can be sometimes, he’s promising me that this one won’t be like the previous time and he would pay every dime he owes me. Then I said “no worries, take your time and pay back when you have”.” “He was like if he’s coming back this time around he would want to look for someone to come with so it can be 6 suitcases in total and with that the profit would be sufficient and he would give me part of it.” “All I needed to do was pay the person £1k when they get back to the UK which I should add to the bill. I agreed and we fixed the day he will be coming back to nigeria.” “I did all the necessary things per usual lol ( like jazz) and he flew in with a woman lol but I never met her because I didn’t have any business with her. I sent money to the accounts he asked me to, he flew back to the Uk and had me send the £1k to the woman seperately.” “I sent him the total of the money I sent to the accounts and it was about N6,444,000. Mind you I didn’t include the miscellaneous expenses in the bill.” “After he left I asked how far it went and this unfortunate thief @kingt0lu said to me that there’s a lot of people coming into Nigeria to buy cigarettes now and as such the Europeans are not pricing it well so he’ll wait a bit (Again).” “I told him to sell it and give me back my capital as I needed my funds to pay my fees which was about £22,000 because time was running out.” “All I kept hearing from then on were lies and several excuses about how his older brother and his family moved to back to the UK from US.” “They were staying at his house until his brother gets a job, how it hasn’t been easy on him financially bla bla bla.  Days turned into months and I didn’t get any positive reply about my money.” “There was a time I tried reaching out to @kingt0lu and couldn’t get across then I went through his IG and found his brother TOBIs handle, I reached out to him, I explained who I was saying I was Tolu’s “FRIEND” and Tolu was owing me bla bla bla.” “The brother said he didn’t know me as Tolu never spoke about me but he knows that his brother is owing someone money ( in my mind I’m like na me dey claim person wey no claim me).” “He then went ahead to say he would speak to his brother and make sure he pays me (I thanked him as I thought I was going to get back my money soon lmao). A few days later I tried to reach out to his brother tobi on ig and realized he blocked me lmao ( birds of a feather).” “After sometime Tolu reached out to me explaining how he was arrested and he would have mentioned my name when the cops asked him where he got the money (clown). I’m like “do you work for me”? “Did I send you to do the business”?” “Wasn’t I on my own jejely when you came to tell me about the cigarette business”? And how you would want me to borrow you money to do it? Even after I had asked you severally if the business was safe or not.” “He said he was arrested and the cigarettes he bought plus the other ones he kept at his house were seized LMAO!!! I sha gave him my piece of mind and he went ahead to say he can actually block me and pay me back my money when he has it , I said DO IT & he did it.”  READ FULL POST:

According to the statement, the project, which is expected to be completed in 2029, has a total of 248.46 km of road. It said it had 58.03 km of roads in Umuahia and 190.43 km of roads in Aba which would be rehabilitated to asphaltic concrete standards at varying cross-sections. It said: ”Erosion sites in Umuahia and Aba will be reinstated as well as preparatory studies were undertaken for private sector participation in solid waste management for the two cities. ”The project will also include capacity building, project management and development of social infrastructure. ”This includes the rehabilitation of schools and the provision of sanitation facilities in schools, community markets and hospitals.” It said with an estimated population of 553,000 and 814,000 respectively (2022 estimates), Umuahia and Aba, the commercial hub, were currently facing serious infrastructure challenges. It said when completed, the 1.37 million population in these two cities would benefit from reduced travel time, vehicle operating costs and lower transport cost. ”The project will also create 3,000 temporary jobs (30 per cent for women) at the construction phase, and about 1,000 permanent jobs during the operational phase. ”The permanent jobs will particularly benefit the youths, who will make up 50 per cent of the project.
”They will be trained in contract management by the State Youth Road Maintenance Corps for road maintenance, a body of young Abia engineers drawn from the 17 Local Government Areas of the State,”it said. Mr Lamin Barrow, the Director-General of AfDB’s Nigeria Country Department, said the project would build resilience by providing the town access to urban infrastructure services, including economic and social amenities. Barrow said: “The results from implementation of the project will help expand access to economic and social amenities in the two cities, and thereby contribute to building sustainable and liveable cities.” The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that AfDB’s portfolio in Nigeria comprises 48 operations worth 4.2 billion dollars. The national (Federal and States) operations account for 90 per cent of the portfolio, for 41 projects amounting to 3.79 billion dollars, while multinational operations constitute 10 per cent for seven projects amounting to 0.41 billion dollars. There are 24 Sovereign Operations, 2.36 billion dollars or 56 per cent of total commitments and 24 Non-Sovereign Operations (1.84 billion dollars or 44 per cent).

Why Tinubu should convert students loan to grant ― ASUU

Why Tinubu should convert student loan to grant ― ASUU

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is suggesting that President Bola Tinubu converts the newly assented Students Loans Act to a grant for indigent students. Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics programme, ASUU National President, Prof Emmanuel Osodeke said that converting the loan act into a grant would be better because it is being given to a set of students who are very poor.

Why Tinubu should convert students loan to grant ― ASUU

ASUU President, Prof. Emmanuel Osadeke The ASUU President further stated that the requirements for the loan are “not practicable”, adding that more than 90% of students won’t meet the “stringent requirements” to access and repay the loan. Osodeke said, “It should be called a grant since it is coming from the Federation Account and not that (after) these people have access to it and when they are graduating, they have heavy loads behind them and within two years, if they don’t pay, they go to jail. That’s why we’re talking about collective bargaining, you have views from all the sides.” Recall that on Monday, June 12, President Tinubu signed into law an interest-free Students Loans Bill in fulfilment of a promise he made during his campaign. The bill was sponsored by the Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, who is now the President’s Chief of Staff. However, the ASUU President said the loan is impracticable and not sustainable. Osodeke said, “The idea of student loan came in 1972 and it was in a bank established. People who took loans never paid, you can go and investigate. In 1994, 1993, the military enacted Decree 50 also set up a Students’ Loan Board. The National Assembly domesticated it in 2004 and within a year, it went off. The money disappeared. We want to see how this one will be different.” “We, as a union also did research of countries all over the world, of people who have benefited from this loan, they were committing suicide. Recently, (President Joe) Biden is trying to pay back the bank loans of some who borrowed in the US,” he said. “It is better to look for alternative means of funding education than to encumbering students whose parents earn N30,000 a month with a loan.”

Manchester United have ruled out the possibility of Harry Maguire joining Newcastle United on loan but are open to selling their captain. Having slipped down the pecking order at Old Trafford this season, Maguire started just eight league games for the club this season with three Premier League sides interested in signing him this summer. Source: Getty Manchester United would sell Maguire to Newcastle due to the finances involved but a loan to St James’ Park is out of the question. The Sun reported that Newcastle is eager to work out a loan deal but the Red Devils have no intention of bolstering the ranks of a top-four rival without being financially rewarded. Aston Villa are watching keenly as they want extra cover in the squad for their European campaign. Villa would have a better chance of a loan deal being accepted by United. Tottenham are linked with the 30-year-old but are yet to make a play. Leicester was also keen on signing the defender but relegation put an end to that idea. United players will reportedly get a pay rise following qualification for the Champions League. And Maguire’s current wages of around £200,000 a week would already be hard to match by most Premier rivals. Victor Lindelof was also the Dutchman’s preferred option during the final stages of the season with left-back Luke Shaw also selected ahead of Maguire on a number of occasions. Ten Hag recently suggested his skipper is not happy with the situation and opened the door for him to leave Old Trafford this summer. United are thought to be working on a deal to sign Napoli star Kim Min-Jae and could cash in on Maguire to help fund that move. The Red Devils fans may need to ready themselves for weeks or even months of rumours about Maguire with no firm decision emerging just yet.
