A woman who gave birth to quintuplets has received a gift of N2 million from Anambra Governor, Chukwuma Soludo.

The revelation was made by Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, in her office in Awka on Monday, 17th April 2023. The N2 million naira is intended for the welfare of the quintuplets, consisting of three males and two females. Once the processing is completed, the support will be sent to the family immediately. Mr. Tochukwu, an Onitsha-based businessman, and his wife, Mrs. Chidinma Amaechi, were blessed with a set of quintuplets after 9 years of childlessness at Life International Hospital in Awka on March 29, 2023.

The incident was shared by an eyewitness who reported the story to an Instagram blogger. According to the reporter, he and his team had gone to Anambra for a traditional wedding gig. During the event, the elders refused giving the lady the palm to search for her husband among the crowd, as is customary in the culture. Their reason had been that the event had been set on the same day as the town’s market day, which is frowned upon. It was reported that a swarm of bees charged to the place and began attacking the guests, disrupting the event. A video shared online captures the guests run while swatting at the bees which trailed after them. The eyewitness wrote: “…this happened in Anambra Okija, My worst experience so far in okija anambara state where we went for a gig (traditional wedding) the elders refused to give the lady palm wine to search for her husband, because today was there market day, behold few minutes later bees from no where att®*cked all the kings men & it wasn’t funny sha” Watch the video below;

This incident reportedly took place in the Ezi-Ogwugwu, Otolo Nnewi in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State. According to Obiora, he committed the act as a result of domestic violence. He admitted to the crime to his in-laws, who are struggling to come to terms with the tragic event. In his words; “I returned home in the morning of March 2, 2023, and was knocking at the gate, but my wife did not open immediately. “In that anger, I started shouting at her. I first slapped and hit her from the gate to the house before angrily grabbing her on the neck and strangling her to death. “I couldn’t believe what happened because I never expected that such actions would lead to her death. “I eventually abandoned the corpse and left out of fear and confusion, after confiding in few persons who I sought advice on what to do. “It was later in the evening that my mother reached out to my wife’s family members.” According to a source close to the family, the couple, who got married in August of last year, were anticipating the arrival of their first child before the unfortunate incident occurred. The source revealed that the couple had been experiencing intermittent episodes of domestic violence and familial challenges, which the wife’s family was unaware of. Nathaniel Uzuegbunam’s family from Obiuno community in Otolo Nnewi expressed confusion over why the perpetrator was not present during the entire ordeal and why the mother had to be the one to deliver the tragic news. “At about 7pm on Thursday, March 2, 2023, the deceased family received a call from the husband’s mother, informing them that their daughter had just slumped and appeared to be dead. “As soon as they made their way to their in-law’s residence at Ezi-Ogwugwu, they were informed that their daughter had been rushed to the Nnewi Diocesan Hospital at Akwudo. “At the hospital, the doctor on duty informed them that their daughter was dead after examining her body,” the source stated. When contacted, Police spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga was unable to verify the incident, but a senior police officer at the Command stated that the suspect would face charges once the investigations were completed.

According to reports, these hoodlums invaded and set ablaze with the police on Sunday morning, January 8.
Reports say that the Umuchu police station was recently renovated by a social group identified as members of the Umuchu Improvement Union, UIU after the station was destroyed during the #EndSARS protests in 2020 by some protesters.
The spokesman for the state police command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga confirmed the incident and also disclosed that there was no record of casualty.

A 50-year-old Nigerian man identified as Udoka Eze has been reportedly found [email protected] in Anambra State.
Reports gathered that the man had returned to his hometown for Christmas and was found [email protected] in Nawfija community in Anambra State.

According to eyewitnesses who gave accounts of the incident, the man was found [email protected] in his red Toyota Camry car along Umunze road today January 4.
A resident confirmed that the man recently returned for Christmas and was killed by unidentified people.
The spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, also confirmed the incident, adding that the vehicle was found along Umunze road and that the deceased has been taken to the morgue after a doctor pronounced him dead.
“Today 04/1/2023, police recovered an abandoned red Toyota Camry vehicle with reg No AGL 525 GA found along Umunze road.
“Immediate search was conducted in the vehicle, and the lifeless body of a young man with marks of violence and with suspected gunshot injury was found in the car.
“Further inquiries made revealed that the victim is one Mr. Udoka Eze ‘M’ aged 50 yrs from Iyiafor Village, Owerezukala. He was confirmed dead by a doctor when taken to the hospital and the body has been deposited at the morgue. Investigation has since commenced.
“The Command wants to use this opportunity to call on the witnesses of this incident to come forward with information that will assist in the ongoing investigation and patrols have been intensified in the area.”

The church of Controversial clergyman, Chukwuemeka Ohanaeme popularly known as Odumeje Indanosky has been razed by the government.
According to reports, the church was demolished by the Soludo-led government of Anambra state for constituting obstruction.

The building had been earmarked for demolition months before for falling short of Anambra building plan.
The clergyman who couldn’t stand seeing his church demolished had tried to intervene but was restricted by security personnel.
