Some Nigerians have stormed the page of Guinness World Records page over their delay in officially announcing Hilda Baci as the new record breaker. A few hours ago, Chef Hilda Baci surpassed Lata Tondon who was the former holder of the cooking marathon with Eighty-seven hours forty-five minutes. However, Guinness World Records are yet to officially announce the new record of Hilda Baci. According to them, they will have to review all the evidence first before officially confirming the record. However, Nigerians seem not to be content with the response of Guinness World Records as they storm their official page to drag the institution. Enthusiastic Nigerians show support to viral chef Hilda Baci by standing in the rain to cheer her on as she breaks Guinness record for marathon cooking. It was earlier reported that Hilda had surpassed the Guinness World Record time for marathon cooking previously held by an Indian chef, Lata Tondon who had cooked for 87 hours 45 minutes.

Current record holder, Lata Tondon wishes Hilda Baci goodluck
Lata Tondon, the current cooking record holder has wished Nigerian chef Hilda Baci goodluck on her quest to break her record. Before Lata became a Guinness World Record holder, the longest cooking marathon was previously held by Rickey Lumpkin from Los Angeles, who cooked for a straight 68 hours, 30 minutes and one second in 2018. Lata surpassed his record by over 20 hours and cooked more than 1,600 kilograms of food grains, made 400 vada pavs, 250 sandwiches and a host of other delicacies over four days. The food was served to over 20,000 visitors, including children from orphanages, blind schools and senior citizens from old age homes. The chef and environmentalist used the platform to encourage people to plant over 17,000 saplings too. Sending in her support for Hilda who is few hours away from breaking her record, Lata wrote; “All the best Hilda. Hope to see you on the official site of the Guinness Book Of World Record soon!!!”
