A barrister is captured on tape beating his wife to a pulp at midnight over her refusal to hand over a certain key to her in Uyo. A video making the rounds on social media captured domestic violence between a couple who pulled the attention of street neighbours.
The yet-to-be-identified barrister woke the entire neighbourhood with their fight that led to the woman bleeding from her mouth. When the neighbours dashed to the rescue of the woman, she was on the ground outside her husband’s compound bleeding while wearing only underwear. The Uyo barrister could be heard insisting that she hand over a certain key to him while she was rescued by a group of livid neighbours.
The video has since generated a wave of reactions online from users who lambasted the lawmaker for indulging in a crime he fights against. According to reports, the pregnant woman was apprehended by concerned neighbors who took the little boy identified as Sunday, to the office of the state women and social welfare commissioner, Ify Obinabo. The little boy was the son of the pregnant lady’s sister who brought her son to stay with her for a year. The pregnant woman Mrs. Eguta confessed to beating the child for not reciting the English alphabet correctly. “I am very sorry. I didn’t intend to blind him or b€at him in the eyes, but I mistakenly did so. Please, forgive me, it is the handiwork of the devil,” she said.
