This comment from Seun Kuti did not sit well with Peter Okoye who ended up dragging the singer adding that he has erased his father’s history. In the midst of the online banter, some Nigerians have dug up a 2015 tweet where Seun praised Tinubu for bringing Buhari to power. Why I won't leave any inheritance for my children — Pres. Buhari reveals

The president of the federal republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, speaks on the reason he would not be leaving his children with inheritance.
Speaking in Daura, Katsina State, on Wednesday, July 13, the president emphasized on the need to impact children intellectually other than material-wise.

Buhari implored parents to inculcate values in their children, respect for constituted authorities and living a purposeful life through continuous education.
In his words,
“I was locked up for more than three years, after leading the country. At that point, I realised and I told my children that your net worth is what is in your head, not what you have acquired in life.
My focus has always been on training the children to be relevant wherever they find themselves. I told my children, particularly the girls, that they can only get married after getting first degree.
They already know that I am not leaving anything for anyone to inherit. My greatest legacy to the children is to ensure they are properly educated.
We should ensure the children get proper education. The knowledge they acquire should not be towards getting government jobs. We don’t have jobs in government anymore. With technology, governments are becoming more smaller, nimble and efficient.
Emphasis should now be on skills acquisition and competence in creation and deployment of technology. During the Covid-19, we asked all level 12 downward to stay at home, and surprisingly the systems worked effectively.”

Twitter users call out Nengi for being a man user, claim she advises Buhari to be wicked; she responds

Twitter users call out Nengi for being a man user, claim she advises Buhari to be wicked; she responds

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Nengi Rebecca Hampson has been called out by fans who have alleged that she’s president Buhari’s adviser.
The tweeps, reacting to a recent statement made by the President, likened him to the reality star, as they claim they both somewhat behave alike.

Popular TV host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu had reposted the president’s statement on the prolonged ASUU strike.
The tweet read: “Enough is enough. Don’t hurt the next generation for goodness sake – President Buhari to ASUU”
Reacting to this a tweep had stated that the president and Nengi had the common trait of acting indifferent as if they don’t know what’s going on about them.
Another tweep replying the first opined that it could be the reality star advising the president on how to be wicked.
The reality who had found their allegations funny had hilariously claimed the title.
She wrote: “Special Adviser to the President. FRN. That’s my New Title”.

ASUU: “Enough is enough” – Buhari tells striking lecturers

ASUU: "Enough is enough" - Buhari tells striking lecturers

President Muhammadu Buhari has told leaders of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), to reconsider their position on the continued strike as it will have generational consequences on families and the future development of the country.
The president, who informed the striking lecturers that enough is enough, noted that the future of the country rests on the quality of educational institutions and education.

Reports say Buhari made this remark when he received some governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC), legislators and political leaders at his residence on Monday.
While assuring that the government understands ASUU’s position, Buhari requested that negotiations should continue, with students in lecture halls.
He was quoted as saying:  “I hope that ASUU will sympathise with the people on the prolonged strike. Truly, enough is enough for keeping students at home. Don’t hurt the next generation for goodness sake.
“Students from Nigerian universities will be faced with the challenge of competing with others in a highly connected and technology-driven work space, and keeping them at home only deprives them of time, skill and opportunities to be relevant on the global stage.
“Colonial type education was geared towards producing workers in government. Those jobs are no longer there. Our young people should get education to prepare them for self-employment. Now education is for the sake of education.
“Through technology we are much more efficient. We should encourage our children to get education, not only to look for government jobs.”
