Superstar singer and businessman, Kingsley Okonkwo, professionally known as Kcee, has revealed that his joint gospel album with Okwesili Eze Group, ‘Cultural Praise’ paid him more money than other albums he has ever released in his entire music career. Kcee in a recent interview with Cool FM, Lagos, said people mocked him when he toed the line of gospel music, saying it was the end of his career, but surprisingly, the gospel album turned out to be a whopping success. Music star Kcee and his brother, E-Money Kcee said, “When I did the gospel [album] and a lot of people were like, ‘It’s over, he is actually going close to his village. Now he’s taking the music to the village.’ “That was horrible. When I heard that I was like, okay, let’s see how that works. And it didn’t happen. I made more money from it [the gospel album]; more than any ever before in my whole career.”

“Cultural respect in action” – Little boy’s prostration to an elder goes viral (Video)
In a heartwarming display of traditional culture and respect, a video of a little boy‘s prostration to an elder has gone viral on TikTok. The boy, a Yoruba from Nigeria, was captured on camera demonstrating the traditional way of greeting elders in his culture.
The video, posted by @olori_luxurycollections, has received thousands of likes and comments as of time of sharing. In the video, the little boy walks up to the stranger who just entered the house and prostrates as a way of greeting him. The stranger, visibly surprised and touched by the gesture, smiles and hugs the boy. Prostrating is a traditional form of greeting among the Yoruba people in Nigeria and signifies respect and humility. The little boy’s demonstration of this traditional greeting has sparked a lot of positive reactions from TikTok users who have praised him for his manners and culture. On Friday, the Nigerian Government acknowledged the contribution of Nigerian superstar singers to cultural tourism.
Speaking during a phone-in programme with Radio Nigeria in Abuja, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed made the acknowledgement as he mentions ace singers: Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, and Tiwa Savage.
The minister also confidently stated that the country is safe to host the first Global Conference on Cultural Tourism and Creative Industry scheduled to hold in Lagos from Nov. 14 to 17, 2022.
In his words: “The Wizkid of this world, the Burna Boy, Davido and Tiwa Savage have really shown the world that Nigeria is a hub of the creative industry.
“The security challenge Nigeria is facing did not start today and I must say the Federal Government is rising very stoutly to it.
“We cannot say just because we have insecurity challenge, other sectors of the economy should not be developed
“The entire world is aware of the challenges we are facing, yet we were singled out for the hosting of the very first global conference and that speaks volume.
“That is why Nigerians should get out the negativity and look at the positive aspect of it’’.
