Abroad-based Nigerian laments as daughter set to pay $1950 for daycare monthly
An abroad-based Nigerian pilot, Captain Arinze Odira Onyiliofor laments after being slammed with $1950 monthly daycare, a rough estimate of N1.3M. The pilot took to his Twitter page to bemoan the cost of putting his under-5 years old daughter in school in a Western country.
He, however, suggested the alternative of home-schooling his daughter until she is above 5 years old with the help of his mother. In Arinze’s words; “My daughter’s daycare tuition is going to be $1950 per month. I’ve just instructed my mum, her grandmother, to pack her bags and get ready to travel. She was a teacher before retiring. She is about to come out of retirement. My daughter should get ready to be home-schooled till she is 5. I didn’t kill my parents. My daughter is not going to kill me.”
Netizens chipped in to add their take on the topic while Nigerians, mostly emphasized the rate as being exorbitant. Best decision we ever made for our kids as working parents in USA.” @jerrybest7 stated: “Bro that’s normal na… That ain’t no big thing ..
