However, upon investigations, JAMB debunked the news, insisting that Mmesoma did not score 362 but 249. The body accused her of manipulating the result. This was found to be true by the Anambra state government and she was asked to apologise to JAMB. In the latest video, Mmesoma was seen reading her letter of apology in the full glare of cameras. Her words: “I have already admitted that what I did was wrong. I apologise for all the apportioned blame. and all the pain I have caused. Ignorance played a role in my action. Mmesoma Ejikeme looking teary as she appears before committee
An emerging video captures embattled JAMB student, Mmesoma Ejikeme, looking teary as she appeared before an ad-hoc committee. Mmesoma and her counsel were spotted in the clip standing before the House of Reps Adhoc Committee. JAMB insisted that their database is offline and cannot be manipulated, adding that 109 other candidates committed similar infractions in 2023. Mmesoma Ejikeme again admitted forging UTME result, apologized to JAMB, while noting that ignorance led her to commiting the offence. The embattled student who was seen with teary and sad eyes pleaded with JAMB to revisit three year ban placed on her for manipulating her JAMB result. Watch the video below: This is coming shortly after the Anambra State Commissioner of Education, Prof Chuma-Udeh suggested that the young lady’s behaviour may be attributed to a psychological issue, stating that individuals occasionally act in extreme and inexplicable ways, and it is not always a result of parental negligence. She said: “The human mind is full of complexities, and this is one of those cases of being a human being. I think it’s a psychological issue. “Sometimes, people tend to behave ultra-viciously, and it’s not a result of poor parental training. Because when we asked her, she couldn’t provide a valid reason for her action.”
Mmesoma Ejikeme: Official JAMB documents surface
Newly obtained documents have shown inconsistencies in the exam scores of Ejikeme Mmesoma, who had claimed to have scored 362 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) revealed that Mmesoma had actually scored 249 in the exam, with a breakdown of 64 in Use of English, 54 in Physics, 74 in Biology, and 57 in Chemistry.

A breakdown of her common entrance result indicates that she scored 93 in English, 81 in Mathematics, 71 in General Paper, and 89 in Igbo. Although some people have praised Mmesoma’s performance in the common entrance exam, JAMB has insisted that she had forged her UTME result. The Anambra State Government carried out an investigation into the matter and found that Mmesoma had manipulated her UTME scores. Consequently, JAMB has banned her from taking UTME for three years and withdrawn her result. This is coming shortly after an eye witness at Mmesoma Ejikeme‘s JAMB exam hall shared his experience with the embattled student on exam day. According to Ilumina Light, the student’s computer had a glitch and the examiners had to intervene before she could continue. He further noted that despite that, she was still able to score above 200. He appealed to Nigerians not to demean her brilliance.
Charly Boy reacts To Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma’s confession
Renowned singer and maverick personality, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has sparked a discussion by suggesting that political leaders may have influenced the recent admission scandal involving Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma, a candidate of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Charly Boy, known for his vocal stance on societal issues and his criticism of political leaders, took to his Twitter handle on Sunday to share his views on the matter. A photo of Charly Boy. Photo Credit: @areafada1 Source: Twitter The saga began with the release of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) scores, which initially declared Nkechiyere Umeh as the candidate with the highest score of 360. However, Mmesoma, a 19-year-old student of Anglican Girls’ Secondary School, Uruagu Nnewi, contested this result, claiming she had scored 362. In response, the Anambra State government established a committee to investigate her claims. The committee’s findings revealed that Mmesoma had indeed manipulated her exam results, a fact she admitted during the investigation. This revelation sparked reactions from various quarters, including Charly Boy, who wasted no time in drawing a connection between Mmesoma’s actions and the influence of political leaders on society. Expressing his astonishment, Charly Boy acknowledged that Mmesoma had succeeded in deceiving many people, including himself, with her fluent defense and apparent innocence. He also emphasized the need for restraint in passing judgment, suggesting that Mmesoma was still a talented individual who required guidance and counseling from her parents. He wrote; “Mmesoma Ejikeme fooled many including me, checkout the fluency with which she defended herself with such innocence. These children na wa, ooo. She is still a brilliant girl so let’s not be in a hurry to destroy her, the parents have a lot of counselling to do with her. By the way, who never fuckup, raise ur hand. She learn work from leaders that believed that forgery is good plus those who never found their weac result till date. Am sure she was in dis Naija as INEC was manipulating Nigeria electoral process.”
Mmesoma Ejikeme opens up on origin of her 362 JAMB score
Mmesoma Ejikeme, a student of Anglican Girls Secondary School in Nnewi, Anambra State, has explained how she got her impressive score of 362 in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Ejikeme denied the allegations made by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) that she manually manipulated her UTME result to win a N3 million scholarship from Innoson Motors. Ejikeme revealed that she did not visit any computer centre to check her UTME result, but instead accessed it on the JAMB portal after the exams earlier this year. She spoke on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily via telephone on Wednesday, July 5, refuting the claims made by JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin on Sunday, July 2. The 19-year-old student stated in an interview: “You have to register on the JAMB portal with your email address and number; I went to [the] JAMB portal. On that JAMB portal, I tried to get my result; they redirected me to another server.” “That’s where I entered my reg number, and when I checked the result, that was what I got there and downloaded it. I didn’t go to any computer centre.” When asked if she was the only one who printed the outdated UTME result sheet, she said she had not seen anyone with a similar copy. Ejikeme said; “You know phones now, if you want to check, you have the reg number. That’s the main thing you use in downloading your [results]. It’s not the hard copy that I’m talking of.” Romanus Ejikeme, Mmesoma’s father, also confirmed that he did not accompany his daughter to any business or computer centre to print out her UTME result.
“Stay punitive action against Mmesoma Ejikeme” ― Reps tell JAMB
The House of Representatives has urged the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to stay any punitive actions against Miss Joy Mmesoma Ejikeme over alleged falsification of her JAMB score. This followed the adoption of a motion by Rep. Awaji-Inombek Abiante (PDP-Bayelsa) at plenary in Abuja on Wednesday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that Ejikeme had claimed to have scored 362 as against 249 which the board recorded as her score in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) through JAMB. He said Ejikeme, a student of Anglican Girls Secondary School, Nnewi, Anambra, sat for the 2023 UTME and claimed to have scored 362. Abiante said on July 2, JAMB Head of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin n a statement, accused Ejikeme of manipulating her UTME score from 249 to 362 . He said Ejikeme came out to defend herself, that she actually printed the result from the JAMB website and had been a brilliant child all through her nursery and secondary education. He said Mmesoma came first in all the examinations she had been taking before the UTME, hence she posited that she was not capable of manipulating her UTME result. According to him, cognisant of the fact that uploading or downloading result of examinations or polls electronically, in Nigeria, glitches can occur at any time, hence the need to establish the facts before any blames. He said Benjamin had earlier alleged that some of the 2023 UTME candidates were parading fake scores in order to get undue advantage from the public, hence the need to investigate the allegation. The house, therefore, set up an ad hoc committee to investigate the alleged manipulation of Ejikeme’s UTME results and report back within one week for further legislative action.
Why JAMB is after my daughter – Ejikeme Mmesoma’s father
Romanus Ejikeme, the father of Mmesoma who was accused of forging her 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination result, has spoken out about the family’s sadness following the saga. In an interview with journalists who visited his home in Nnewi on Tuesday, Ejikeme said that the family had left everything to God to judge. He went on to insist that his daughter did not forge her results. Ejikeme described her as a hardworking and studious student who did not joke with her studies. The father’s comments come after the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) accused Mmesoma of forging her UTME result. He alleged that the move by JAMB was to thwart the N3 million scholarship awarded to her by the Innoson company. He said, “Mmesoma cannot manipulate her UTME score. I don’t believe what they are saying. They just want to transfer that scholarship to another person. That is why they are saying that Mmesoma did not make that score. “My daughter studies so hard that even when you ask her to go to bed late in the night, she will insist on reading more because she wants to study Medicine and Surgery. “After all the stress, someone will say her result was forged. I have no doubt about this matter. I’m sure my daughter did not forge the result and we are ready to go to any length to prove it. “I only feel bad that after what my daughter has gone through reading for the exams, she is being denied her legitimate score. “Since this allegation of my daughter forging her JAMB result broke out, both my wife and my daughter have been feeling very sad. My daughter is traumatised. “We want a diligent investigation into this matter,” he said. Mmesoma Ejikeme, who had claimed to score 362 in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), has been accused of forging her result by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). According to the board, the student withdrew her original result and presented a fake one. JAMB also claimed that Mmesoma had been banned from taking the exams for three years.
JAMB releases Ejikeme Joy’s “original” result, shows different score
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially shared the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result slip of Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma. This follows the buzzing controversy surrounding her 362 score which was claimed to have been manipulated and forged. JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, had on Sunday, July 2, accused Ejikeme of manually manipulating her UTME result to get a N3 million scholarship from Innoson Motors. During an interview on Channels TV on Tuesday, July 4, Benjamin posted Ejikeme’s JAMB result which revealed that the student of Anglican Girls Secondary School in Nnewi, Anambra state, scored 249 in the exam, TheCable reported. The UTME result presented by JAMB is different from the result slip being paraded by Mmesoma, which showed she scored 362. See the post below:
This is coming shortly after the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) revealed ways in which candidates inflate their 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results. The examination body disclosed that candidates and their alleged sponsors defraud Nigerians with the claims that they had excellent results or got the highest score in the UTME using a particular software. JAMB made reference to Miss Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma, who claimed to have scored 362, and Atung Gerald from Kaduna state, who claimed to have scored 380 in the UTME, but had neither obtained the 2023 UTME application documents nor participated in the examination.
Ejikeme Mmesoma duped or part of syndicate manufacturing fake UTME result
The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Is-haq Oloyede, has responded to the claims made by Ejikeme Mmesoma, a candidate who recently sat for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Addressing the controversy surrounding Mmesoma’s result, Mr Oloyede stated that investigations conducted by JAMB revealed that the accused candidate “was either duped or she is a member of a high-level syndicate engaged in manufacturing fake UTME results.”
A photo of the Jamb registrar, professor Ishaq Oloyede. Photo Credit: @google Source:google During an interview with Premium Times on Monday evening, July 3rd, the JAMB registrar stood firm in his position and emphasized that the document being presented by Miss Mmesoma “belongs to another candidate who took the examination two years ago.” Explaining further, Oloyede highlighted a critical point of distinction. He said; “If you scan the code, the candidate’s result will show. So I can say emphatically that the girl is parading a fake result. It is either she is being duped, or she is part of a syndicate manufacturing purported JAMB results. “There are security features on our results, so I can emphasise that the girl is just trying to deceive the public. Her result is completely fake. Her claim that she printed the result from our site is a lie, totally incorrect. If we should reveal all that we know, people will be shocked. So if people are looking for shortcuts to achieve an end, that is what would happen.“
“Provide Ejikeme Joy’s paper for external body to remark”
Nigerian singer and socio-political activist Charly Boy has asked JAMB to provide Ejikeme Joy’s paper to be remarked by an external body. Ejikeme Joy has been accused by the board of JAMB of faking her Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, result for the school scholarship.

However, Ejikeme Joy has expressed shock over the piece of news by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB. She shared the result slip printed from the website of JAMB with its barcode and its QR code. However, she disclosed in the video that JAMB has described the printed results from their website as fake. In the midst of the back and forth, Charly Boy has taken to his Twitter page to express his dissatisfaction with the way JAMB is handling the case. He has asked JAMB to retrieve the original exam paper of Ejikeme Joy to be remarked by an external body for clearance. Charley Boy tweeted, “JAMB must produce her paper for an external body to remark. I don’t trust the mark they claim they awarded her right now. “JAMB has ended up making the young girl popular and the girl on the other hand exposed JAMB’s corruption & ineptitude just like INEC.”
