In a lengthy post he made on his Twitter page, @cyberomin, he explained the events. He explained how when he used to be a team lead he had a colleague who refused to pull his weight during work despite being called out numerous times. The team lead knew his capability so he was surprised about his negligence to his work. However, after numerous attempts to get him to do better without success, he decided to let him go. However, last minute, he chose to ask him what was wrong to which the colleague confided in him and explained how his mother had cancer and he had become her caregiver as well as responsible for her medical bills. He gave him two weeks off and filled in for him. The team lead has emphasized the need to show more kindness and has expressed gratitude for not sacking him. A woman has recently shared a distressing account on her social media platform, recounting how her mother fell victim to a scam artist who pretended to be a bank employee at a prominent Nigerian bank. According to her, the mother contacted her immediately after the devastating incident, leaving her overwhelmed with guilt as she, being the eldest child, was unable to provide immediate assistance to her mother during this crisis.

Her statement “Four days ago, I received news that turned my entire world upside down. My mum called me, crying uncontrollably and talking gibberish.” “That in itself was so strange because my mum rarely cries. When I managed to calm her down a bit, everything stolen from her by the men in the pictures below. My mummy was bawling like a baby and nothing I was saying was getting through to her.” “She was talking incoherently and in that moment I was truly afraid that she was going to go bonkers. I tried encouraging her, telling her that money was transient and could always be made back.” 

“I’m not sure I got through to her at all. I ended the call and began to rack my brain thoroughly, uppermost in my mind.” “What can I do to fix this? I felt responsible. I am a first child, I should be able to fix this, to wipe these tears off my mother’s face. But there was nothing I could do for her. I, a recent graduate, trying to find my feet in the world, where would I get millions to replace what she’d lost?” “I did the only thing that makes sense to me in chaos, I turned to Abba. I opened my mouth and nothing came out tears just kept rolling down my face, where would we begin?” “But then, I did something I learnt through tribulations. I gave thanks to the giver of all things. I sincerely gave thanks through the tears and pain. God gave, and he can give again.” “And I prayed for peace and consolation for my mum. This was the most important thing at the moment. And God did give her peace and calm in the eye of the storm. My mom who was talking incoherently for straight two days is calm now and we’re trusting God for the best.”
