He bemoaned the challenges he faced at Central School Opanda and suggested that he would have achieved more if he had embarked on a different professional journey. The disgruntled teacher particularly highlighted the issue of low remuneration, stating that despite the prevailing economic hardships, he was only receiving a monthly salary of N43,000. This, according to Okoro, is insufficient to meet basic needs and navigate the financial challenges of the times. Okoro John also lamented the missed opportunities for personal and professional growth, stating that he could have accomplished more if he had pursued alternative career paths instead of dedicating his time to teaching. The letter reads; “I Okoro John who was employed on 13th day of February, 2017, solemnly wish to resign as a teacher from Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board. I am happy writing this and I regret been a primary school teacher. If I started my journey as an apprentice when I started this work, I could have gone far in business. I can’t combine both work and business, rather I give way to people who need it. What has #43,000 do in this type of economic hardship. I pay house rent, I will feed myself and family, build house and even buy a car. Please do the needful to others so that primary school teacher and education will be great again.
Thanks.” Netizens Reactions… Promise Uzoma Okoro said; “Very touching.” Onoja Friday said; “So unfortunate.” Solomon Alanso said; “When you get to this place in Enugu umulokpa you will see heal.” Humphery Nweze said; “Let’s see how much he’ll be making from his business every month. Nobody wants to start small.” Kachi China Ola said; “Humphery Nweze there’s no indication that the writer started big, he sure started very little and for six years, he has nth to show for it; starting little entails that you start from somewhere with hope of making it bigger sooner. My dear, with all said and done, that’s not starting little, but stagnation.” Abigail Wilfred Chimnoyerem said; “I need two reactions to this post The fact that he wasted his time on a career that would’ve been the most rewarding but not so in this country. “And for the way he outlined the letter to whom it may concern, the truth is that those in charge do not have any conscience left for good and justice.”  Humblelife Awak said; “Sad reality of our current nation that our Heroes past left in our hands.”  See below;

Enugu Tribunal orders Peter Mbah to appear before it over alleged NYSC certificate forgery

Enugu Tribunal orders Mbah to appear before it over alleged certificate forgery

The Enugu State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has ordered Governor Peter Mbah to appear before it tomorrow, Friday, over the alleged forgery of the National Youths Service Corps, NYSC, discharge certificate. This is coming after an application was made by the candidate of Peoples Redemption Party, PRP, Elder Christopher Agu through its counsel, Barr Alex Amujiogo, claiming that Mbah was not qualified to contest the election.

Enugu Tribunal orders Mbah to appear before it over alleged certificate forgery

Present Enugu Governor, Peter Mbah At the resumed hearing, the PRP’s counsel, Amujiogo told the tribunal that Mbah was supposed to be in court as a subpoenaed witness. He, however, said from the affidavit deposed to by the bailiff of the Tribunal, it had been difficult to serve Mbah the summon. Amujiogo then moved an application, urging the Tribunal to grant a substituted service of the summon on Mbah through his counsel. Although the application was opposed by the three respondents, the INEC, Mbah as well as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on the grounds that it was supposed to come by way of motion, supported by an affidavit during pre-trial session, they were overruled by the Tribunal. Chairman of the Panel, Justice K. M. Akano ordered that the subpoena be served on Mbah through his counsel and that he should appear before the Tribunal tomorrow, June 23, 2023. Earlier, the PRP guber candidate during the election, Agu, had also testified before the Tribunal as PW2. An official of the NYSC from the National Secretariat, Abuja, Barr. Aliu Muhammed, who also appeared on behalf of the Director-General of the Corps, tendered an affidavit to the Tribunal, declaring that an order of a Federal High Abuja, was inhibiting them from tendering the disclaimer the Corps made against Mbah’s certificate. The PRP lawyer, Amujiogo told journalists after the Tribunal’s sitting that “our PW2 (Christopher Agu) has already testified before the Honourable Tribunal and he has given a clearer picture, the synopsis of what transpired during the election and we are urging the Tribunal to set aside the purported result in favour of Peter Mbah, the Governor. “We had an issue of subpoena against Barr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, in which the Tribunal is urging him to appear before it to clarify certain issues against him, based on his NYSC certificate and other matters. “Surprisingly, he was not in the Tribunal today and the bailiff informed the Tribunal that he is invading service, he cannot find him, the security cannot allow him to serve Mbah the subpoena. “Then, the Tribunal in its own wisdom, after I have applied, has now permitted the bailiff or myself, to now serve Mbah through his counsel, for him to appear before the Tribunal tomorrow, being 23rd of June, 2023 and clarify certain issues against him before the Tribunal and we have already served him the said subpoena through his lawyer, Ik Onuoma today in court. “So he must obey the summon of the Tribunal by appearing in person tomorrow, Friday.”

Peter Obi has registered his displeasure over the continuous delay in releasing the governorship results of Abia and Enugu States. In a statement released by Peter Obi today 21st March 2023, Obi charged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to release the results immediately. “Having appealed privately on this matter let me do it publicly, for the imperative of releasing the gubernatorial election results of Abia and Enugu state immediately. “I am aware that the INEC said they are reviewing the collation of the results in these two states. I like to urge them to accelerate their actions as the continued delay is questioning INEC’s intent and the credibility of the election. “It is disheartening that the commission is unable to resolve whatever issues that are holding the release of the results. The records of elections from polling units should not be difficult to calculate if the electoral officials are committed to the integrity of the exercise, and the stipulated guidelines,” Obi said.
