116 houses at Trademore Estate in Lugbe, Abuja have been declared a disaster zone by the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, requiring immediate action, following the recent flood that submerged the area. The FCTA said it is considering evacuating people from the areas to prevent further casualties.

Flooded area in Abuja FCTA’s Permanent Secretary, Olusade Adesola who revealed that the flooding incident at Trademore Estate was among the issues reviewed at the FCT Monthly Security Committee meeting, added that they are amazed that only two days after the flood, people had returned to some of the properties. Adesola also said that the FCDA Executive Secretary, who chairs the Task Force on Flood Mitigation in FCT, the Commissioner of Police and other officials of the FCTA, particularly FEMA, Development Control, AEPB are now ready to go and evolve solutions that would immediately address the menace. The FCTA Permanent Secretary said in a statement; “We were amazed that only two days after the flood, people had returned to some of the properties. So, in a couple of days, we will be taking appropriate action. Having seen the extent of the flooding, we hereby declare the Trademore Estate area a disaster zone that needs immediate action to remedy further damage and loss of lives and property.”

3 killed as gunmen storm Lagos’ residential estate

About three persons have been killed by some unknown gunmen after they stormed Gowon Estate, Ipaja area of Lagos state.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the state’s police command spokesperson while addressing the incident confirmed it. According to him, the incident happened late night. According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Gowon Estate Police Division received a call from some residents of Naval Block of the estate informing them about the shootings and killing of three people by the unknown gunmen on 41 Road, Union Bank Block in the estate. Addressing the issue, he said; “While at the scene of the shooting, the police recovered nine expended cartridges and a bunch of keys. “At Igando General Hospital, one unknown male corpse was recovered and evacuated to Mainland General Hospital, Yaba for preservation and autopsy. “Further information given to the police revealed that two male corpses were taken away by their families. ”One male survivor, Doba Ngoze, is currently on admission at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba,” he said.

The General Overseer of Omega Power Ministry, Chibuzor Chinyere on Tuesday fulfilled his promise by donating a mini estate and a car to the parents of late Deborah Samuel.
According to the pastor, the car is for Garba Emmanuel, the father, to start an Uber business.

The cleric’s gesture follows the gruesome murder of Deborah, a Christian student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, lynched over alleged blasphemy.
Her killing, however, has continued to spark outrage across the country with many calling for the swift prosecution of the two suspects arrested in connection with the crime.
Sharing the photos depicting the heartwarming moment Deborah’s parents received their donation, Pastor Chibuzor Chinyere captioned: “Today 24 May 2022.
“Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere the general overseer of omega power Ministry OPM donates a 14 flats mini estates and a Corolla car for Uber business to the family of the slain Deborah samuel.
“Fully sponsored through tithes and offerings in OPM church.”
