A young Nigerian man’s dream of marrying his Benue lover has been crushed due to an enormous marriage list of N1.2 million presented by his girlfriend’s family. The heartbreaking story was shared by the man’s friend, Udam Samuel Aseer, in a Facebook post on January 5, 2024. According to Udam Samuel, his friend’s plans to get married hit a roadblock when the in-laws insisted on a whopping sum of N1.2 million marriage list, effectively doubling the initial budget of N600,000. The revelation has sparked a wave of reactions on social media, with many expressing shock and dismay at the exorbitant demands placed on the groom. The aspiring groom, whose identity remains undisclosed, had saved and planned meticulously for his marriage to his girlfriend, only to face an unexpected hurdle. The bride’s family allegedly presented a detailed marriage list that included a range of items, ceremonies, and financial contributions, totaling the significant sum of N1.2 million. Woman sells off her baby for N600k to pay bank loan
A 33-year-old woman identified as Olaide Adekunle has been arrested for selling her baby for N600,000 to pay off a bank loan.
According to reports, the young woman was arrested by the Ogun State police command for allegedly selling off her 18-month-old baby to a yet-to-be-identified buyer at the rate of N600,000. The husband of the woman, Nureni Rasaq, reported the incident at Sango divisional headquarters. He reported to the police that his wife, Olaide Adekunle, left home for Lagos on the 15th of March 2023 with their baby girl called Moridiat Rasaq, but returned home without the child. After the incident was reported to the police, an arrest warrant was issued to arrest the woman and upon interrogation, the suspect confessed that she has sold her baby to someone in Lagos at the rate of six hundred thousand naira (#600,000). The mother of the children disclosed that she sold the child to an unknown woman in Lagos in order to get money to pay off the loan she took from a microfinance bank.

A woman goes hysterical in a bank after discovering that a substantial amount of money vanished mysteriously from her account. In a video making the rounds online, the distraught bank customer was seen in a frenzied state as she bewailed her plight.
It was gathered that N600K had vanished after opening an account with a popular Nigerian bank. She was heard lamenting how armed robbers never attacked her home, but had instead mer her in the banking halls in the form of bank workers.
