Nigerian man discovers family’s lies, embezzles house project funds
In a shocking tale of deceit and betrayal, a Nigerian man residing in the United States uncovered that the funds he had been sending to his family back home to build a house had been shamelessly embezzled. The distressing revelation came after six long years of false promises and ongoing financial contributions. The distressing account was first brought to light by Mazi Echidiime, who shared the story on Twitter. According to Echidiime’s tweet, the man’s family had been consistently receiving a significant amount of money from him, all intended for the construction of his dream home in his Nigerian village. However, the family’s actions proved to be far from honorable, as they chose to squander the funds rather than fulfill their promise. Upon learning of the distressing situation, Mazi Echidiime, the CEO of a reputable company, intervened to salvage the situation. Recognizing the urgency and the need for justice, Echidiime’s company took charge of the housing project, ensuring that the funds were utilized as originally intended. Months of tireless efforts and meticulous planning have now yielded visible progress on the construction. In a subsequent tweet, Echidiime proudly showcased a photograph of the house, highlighting the significant strides that have been made in just a short period. He wrote; “A friend of mine in the USA whose family has been collecting a lot of money from him to build his house in the village for the past six years later discovered that all was a lie,” They were only eating the money without doing anything for him. Another Nigerian accuses JAMB of manipulating exam scores
In a recent development that has caused a stir on social media, a Nigerian man with Twitter handle @Nnanyelugo13 has come forward with claims of score manipulation by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). This revelation comes after Joy Ejikeme, an Anambra student, was accused by JAMB of inflating her Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) score from 249 to 362, leading to a scholarship from Innoson Motors. Dr Nnanyelugo expressed support for Joy Ejikeme and shared his own experience from 2009, stating that JAMB changed his score four times. According to his tweet, he recounted seeing different scores each time he checked the JAMB portal: 162, 286, 215, and 214. He further highlighted that during that period, he was using a Nokia touch phone and had no knowledge of operating a computer, raising questions about the source of the score manipulations. He wrote; “In 2009, JAMB changed my score 4 times, 162, 286, 215, 214. Each day it kept on changing, I was using Nokia touch then, I don’t even know how to operate a computer then, so who was manipulating my own result then?” JAMB officials have yet to release an official statement regarding the allegations made by @Nnanyelugo13 and others. However, it is anticipated that the regulatory body will launch an inquiry into the matter to ascertain the veracity of the claims and take appropriate action if necessary. @Jacob Silas said; “I knew that little girl could be innocent. This is a severe accusation to lay on a young child.” @Saraiii commented; “This entire thing needs to be thoroughly investigated don’t put blames on anyone yet.” @Jennifer Bryan added; “I know someone this happened to too.
