Amid the high cost of petrol, a man who entered a truck’s tank to allegedly steal fuel has died. The body of the man was removed by residents from the fuel truck which was parked in a yet-to-be-identified street.

It was gathered that the unknown man had entered the truck’s tank to steal fuel but had somehow gotten stuck. How he had died – whether by drowning or asphyxiation from fuel fume – is at the time of writing, unknown. In the video which surfaced online, onlookers gathered and watched as the lifeless body of the man was pulled out of the tank. One voice among the spectators could be heard wailing and chastising the dead for being greedy for wealth and throwing his life over fuel. Watch the video below:

Student assaulted for reportedly refusing to ‘help’ his colleagues during exam

A Nigerian student has been assaulted after he reportedly refused to help his colleagues during an examination at a school in Imo State. Online reports alleged that the unnamed student had written an exam with his colleagues and had covered his work from them. After the exams they came for him and began maltreating him for what they deemed to be unfair treatment to them. A video which has gone viral shows the student being maltreated by his fellows outside the building. Onlookers who spoke in the background mocked him for closing his book; some made snide remarks about his behavior being that of those in primary schools. See the video below…

Nigerian man has reportedly gone partially blind following bizarre attempt to break Guinness World Record by crying for 100 hours. In a report released by an Instagram blog, Gossipmill, the Nigerian man identified as Tembu Ebere confirmed that he went partially blind while trying to set the longest crying record.

Speaking on his health issues with BBC, the man revealed that while he was trying to cry for 7 days without stop, at a point, he went temporarily blind and couldn’t see anything anymore for the moment. He also revealed that concomitant effects such as headaches, puffy eyes and body pains had followed a 45 minutes of blindness. The man said that he had to re-strategize and reduce how much he was wailing since it was causing him headaches.

Nollywood actress, Mimi Orjiekwe has been reportedly arrested and detained by The Special Fraud Unit (SFU) Ikoyi, Lagos state on Monday night over alleged failure to deliver a contract worth N700,000,000 awarded to her by a businessman, Mr Micheal Diongoli. According to a report by Blogger, Cuttie Julls, Mr Micheal Diongoli paid a total sum of N700million (seven hundred million naira) directly to Mimi Orjiekwe to secure the procurement contract to supply specific household interior-design furniture items, but she failed to deliver.

Nigerian couple arrested for reportedly selling their one-month-old baby for N1.7 million

Anthony Igbinogun, a 48-year-old man, and his girlfriend, Joy Umukoro, have been apprehended on suspicion of selling their newborn baby to obtain drugs. The Edo State Taskforce Against Human Trafficking (ETAHT) arrested the couple, along with their friend James Precious, who had connections to the buyer in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Abigail Ihonre, the Head of the Investigation Unit at ETAHT, informed the media in Benin City that the baby was sold for N1.7 million. While the mother admitted to the crime, the whereabouts of the infant have yet to be determined. According to Ihonre, Joy gave birth in April 2023 but later claimed that they sold their son because they were unable to provide for him. She further revealed that the couple are drug addicts, putting them at risk of a seven-year jail sentence. The investigation into the case is ongoing, with efforts focused on locating the baby and the buyers. The matter is scheduled to be taken to court on Monday, June 26, 2023, to ensure that all those involved face the consequences of their criminal actions. “Investigation into the case continues as we intensify efforts to locate the baby and the buyers as the matter will be charged to Court on Monday, June 26, 2023, so that everyone culpable is made to face the wrath of the law for their criminal activities. “Our investigations revealed that Joy Umukoro, delivered the baby in April 2023, and conspired with her boyfriend to sell their baby for N1.7 million. “The suspects said they carried out the dastardly act because they couldn’t take care of the baby. These people are alleged drug addicts, and when it was clear that they couldn’t take care of the baby, they decided to sell him. But that wasn’t the best option for them, as the decision could destroy their lives. The penalty for trafficking is about seven years in prison,” she said.
