Dr. Barde Luka Yelwa, a 38-year-old lecturer and his wife Godiya have reportedly passed away two days apart.
On Thursday, April 20, 2023, Dr. Barde, a lecturer in the biology department at the Umar Suleiman College of Education in Gashua, Yobe State, passed away from a heart attack while caring for his ill wife. On Saturday, April 22nd, two days after he died, his wife also died living behind a 5-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy.
The couple will be buried at Dagare Village, 10 kilometers along the Bauchi-Jos Road, on April 24, 2023. Friends, family, and coworkers of the couple have cried out in pains on Facebook. “We spoke just a few days ago after your Ph.D. accomplishment not knowing that it would be the last moment I would ever hear from you again.” Joeman Joseph, wrote on Facebook.
