Bank manager arrested for hoarding new Naira notes in Abuja

A bank manager has been arrested by the EFCC for allegedly refusing to load the bank’s ATMs, despite having the new Naira notes.

According to the EFCC, the bank manager had N29 million of the new Naira notes in the bank’s vault but refused to do the needful. The manager’s arrest was made on Monday, February 6, 2023, in Abuja. EFCC noted: “Before he was whisked away for further questioning, the operatives ordered the loading of all the ATMs and the payment of the stipulated amount across the counter to the delight of the distraught customers who had spent hours on queues without getting the new notes. This discovery, which indicates a sabotage of the government’s monetary policy by some banks, was made by the EFCC in continuation of the ongoing surveillance and visit to banks across the country to access their vaults and verify whether they were deliberately refusing to dispense the redesigned Naira notes. More than five bank branches were covered today by the operatives in Abuja. Similar exercises were ongoing in Zonal Commands across the country.“

You may recall that the artist has a son named Toluwalase Shiloh Ainoghena Omoniyi with the UK-based socialite. Although it is not known what exactly seems to be the problem, it however appears that their relationship has hit the rocks as they’ve unfollowed each on Instagram.

A quick check on their Instagram pages have showed that the love birds clicked the unfollow button on each other.

Their rumoured rift comes barely a year after the singer moved his babymama to tears of joy with a sweet gesture of showering her with gifts.

Again, Court orders arrest of EFCC Chairman, Bawa

Kogi State High Court has ordered the arrest and remand of the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa.

The court ordered that Bawa be remanded in Kuje prison for disobeying a court order. Justice Rukayat Ayoola in his judgment on Monday, February 6, also directed the Inspector General of Police to ensure compliance because the EFCC boss committed contempt of court. The judge ruled that Bawa should be remanded for the next 14 days for disobeying a court ruling delivered on November 30, 2022, wherein he was directed to produce the applicant in a case, Ali Bello. Counsel to the applicant, Sumaila Abbas, had dragged Bawa to court for arresting and detaining Ali Bello illegally, with the court ruling in his favor, only for the EFCC to arraign him for alleged money laundering three days after the ruling. But, EFCC’s applications for setting aside and staying off the execution of the ruling were refused for want of merit. Recall that an Abuja High Court sitting in Maitama in November 2022 convicted Bawa for contempt of court.

Anita who was left heartbroken by this, took to social media to share video of her boyfriend which showed scenes from moments when they were still together. She had gotten news of his marriage when a friend forwarded photos and videos from his wedding to her. Hailie, the daughter of legendary American rapper, Eminem is now engaged to her long-time boyfriend, Evan McClintock.

Eminem’s 27-year-old daughter, Hailie is now engaged. Hailie announced last night on Instagram that Evans went down on one knee and popped the question. Of course, she said yes. Photos of the night were shared by Hailie. Evans, her future husband looked charming in a white button-down shirt, beige trousers, brown boots, and a black peacoat. Hailie, on the other hand, rocked a pair of dark gray jeans, a black leather jacket, and booties. Close-up photos of her ring were also shared, and her fans could not help but gush at the wonder.

Diddy reacts to viral post of him mocking artist over Grammy Award loss

Popular American rapper, Diddy has reacted to a viral post of him mocking a singer assumed to be Burna Boy or Chris Brown over loss at 65th Grammy Awards.

A post had been making the rounds online which was supposedly made by the American singer. In it, ‘Diddy’ had claimed to have been the one who had helped a certain singer to win his other Grammy Award and the musician had thought he’d win another without his help. The post read: “I helped you win your first and only grammy award which I did out of kindness, and somehow you thought you could win another without my help ?? Oh okay..”

Netizens have opined that the post was meant for either Chris Brown or Burna Boy since they had both lost their nominations and both had won the award once.

Diddy took to the comment section of the post which was shared by an Instagram blog to dismiss the post as fake.

A man who recently arrived Nigeria has broken down in tears as he returns from abroad to find that his family didn’t build the house he’s been sending money home for. The tale was shared on Twitter by a netizen identified as @Inzaghi who revealed that he witnessed the man crying bitterly.

According to the narrator, the has been away from the country for 15 years and all the time, had been sending money home to his people to be utilized in building a house. Returning home 15 years later, he discovered that the money had been squandered by his mum and brother. @Inzaghi wrote; “8.30am: A man is crying & screaming in Oregun, apparently he just came back from Spain & all the money he’s been sending to his people to build a house is no where to be found.
He said he’s been gone for 15yrs and his mother & brothers have nothing to show him.. People are in traffic & foot soldiers have gathered , I had to roll down to see what’s going on.
I haven’t seen a man cry this much, he said he feels naked and empty.. All his life savings gone, he sent them money to build his personal house and 4 flats so they can earn income.”

Nigerian dancer, Korra Obidi, has revealed why she was banned alongside her ex-husband, Justin Dean, from posting their children, June and Athena, online. Recall, in a court document dated January 19th 2022, the ex-couple were banned from posting videos, photos or live-stream of their children, or any content that has their children in it on social media until further notice.

However, in a recent post, a follower questioned Korra to know if her last daughter, Athena, had already started walking. Reacting to this, Korra Obidi noted that no information about her children will be shared online again because some netizens called child protective services from different parts of the world to complain whenever she posts her children. Manchester United to sell Maguire, Telles and Martial

Manchester United is reportedly planning to sell Anthony Martial, Harry Maguire and Alex Telles, after unveiling a plan to sign a new long-term striker. Manchester Evening News reported that the club decided to classify Martial as sellable before his latest injury setback last week. Martial returned from a two-and-a-half week absence to score as a substitute in the League Cup semi-final second-leg win over Nottingham Forest on Wednesday, February 1, however, he withdrew from the squad for the Premier League defeat of Crystal Palace three days later. Martial, 27, has missed 20 of United’s 34 games this season and he has been absent for a total of 16 weeks through five separate injury lay-offs. The Frenchman is under contract until 2024 and United has the option of an additional year, so the upcoming summer transfer window is a prime time to try and cash in on Martial.

Maguire, on the other hand, has been dropped from the starting lineup since Lisandro Martinez joined the club in the summer window. Alex Telles is currently on loan at Sevilla until the end of the season. Manchester United’s coach Erik ten Hag has stressed that a new goalscorer is a priority in the close season and it’s been gathered that the club is interested in Tottenham Hotspur talisman Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen of Napoli.
