Lagos State Police Command has said that it would be investigating polling unit where voters were forced to vote candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The state police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin made the announcement while reacting to a video which captured the moment a political thug told voters who won’t vote for the ruling party at a polling unit in Fehintola Giwa Street Aguda, Surulere, to go home. The unidentified man was heard saying “If you no fit vote APC for here, go your house. Nobody force you come here. I go come look am, if I see you vote another party, you go enter wahala.” Hundeyin who reacted to the video averred that the threat is criminal and against the Electoral Act 2022. He wrote; “This is totally criminal and against the Electoral Act, 2022. Investigation and prosecution will commence.” This is totally criminal and against the Electoral Act, 2022.
