A Nigerian man by the name, Oluwafemi Damilola, has been charged to court in Ondo state for reportedly defrauding four runs girls of 45,000 naira. The victims recounting the incident said that Oluwafemi had patronized their services and had paid them with fake alerts.

According to reports, Oluwafemi was subsequently apprehended by the police and was later charged on two counts bordering on fraud. Akano Moremi, the police prosecutor, stated that the defendant committed the offence in October 2022 in Sabo district of the state. The charge read, ”That you, Oluwafemi Damilola, sometime in October 2022, at Sabo Road, Ondo, in the Ondo Magisterial District, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace by fraudulently having carnal knowledge of the victims. That you, Oluwafemi Damilola, on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district, did indecently assault the female victims by fraudulently and unlawfully having carnal knowledge of them with the pretence of sending them the sum of N45,000 which you failed to do so but willingly send them a fake alert with the aim of defrauding them sexually and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Sections 249 and 360 of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Volume 1 Law of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.” S. A. Iluyemi, the defendant’s lawyer, however, stated that negotiations for a settlement were already underway between the parties. He requested the defendant’s release from custody and made a guarantee that the defendant would make repayment to the complainants before the next adjournment date. Chief Magistrate Charity Adeyanju who granted the request ordered that the money be paid to the complainants before the next date of adjournment.

A woman identified as Abisoye Temitope has cried about the multiple debits from her bank account to sporty bet. According to the woman who claims to have never bet before, an amount of N50,000 she had in her bank account was used to fund a Sporty bet account.

Source: Twitter According to her, the amount of money debited from her account to fund the sports bets was her entire life savings which were illegally stolen from her. As a way to find solutions to her problem, the businesswoman took to her Twitter page to tag Sportybet, her bank, and the Central Bank of Nigeria to help recover her money as they are funds for her mother’s medication. According to the businesswoman, her money was moved from her bank account to the virtual betting platform, in N5000 and N10,000 installments which totaled N50k. She wrote; “I have never played sporty bet in my life but I got multiple debit alerts just now to the tune of 50,000 naira and all were saying I funded a @SportyBetNG account. @PolarisBankLtd, that’s all the money I have. Please help me. @cenbank Boye, what will my mother eat? How will I buy her drugs? 4K lo ku ninu account.” Some social media users have reacted to her post, @Castle tech commented, “Someone either hacked you or use your ATM details to fund his /her own account and saved it !!! So sad”. @Ozasiee_ also commented, “If you are very sure that you didn’t aid the compromise of your card, you will get your money back Go to your bank and report the breach. Make sure you put it in writing and submit it to the manager. A slay queen has been arrested by the police for allegedly defrauding her online vendors using fake alerts.

According to reports, the lady who has been arrested has been in the scamming business since 2019. She is said to have been using fake alerts and four different Instagram accounts for the same purpose. Some people she has reportedly scammed include; Jennyglow, shoes, perfume, clothes, and hair vendors amongst other people. The case was reported to the authorities in Lagos where she was tracked down to Benin from Lagos. One of the victims, Biibi Luxury hair took to her Instagram and captioned her post, “The heart of man is wicked!!!!!
This lady has been ordering hairs from us with fake alerts for a while now, and I only got to know about it two weeks ago 😥. I reached out to some of my friends in the hair industry and I realized she has been doing this since 2019. This lady uses four different Instagram accounts to defraud people, she has scammed the likes of Jennysglow, shoes, perfume, clothes and hair vendors infact the list is long. I reported the situation to the right authorities in Lagos, and i tracked her down to Benin from Lagos(mind you she doesn’t have an address) it was quite hard to get her, but eventually we were able to nab her. I could have let this slide as usual but ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! To those impersonating me, by the time I am fully ready for you, you will really regret your actions.

A Twitter user identified by his handle as @Euronaire has alerted the public after a baby was dumped in front of his house in Lagos State.

According to him, the baby was probably dumped at midnight. Sharing a video of the child, he urged netizens to help in circulating it over the social media space.
Cybercitizens are also advised to contact Aboru police station, Abule Egba, Agbelekale if they can be of any help to the baby.
He wrote:
