Brighton have made their first clean sheet in the 2023/24 season in a goalless draw clash against West Ham United on Tuesday. The draw saw Brighton to seventh place, surpassing Manchester United. Both teams were marred by a number of absentees, due to injuries, with a total of 16 first-team players missing. West Ham had to put up with the absence of Mohammed Kudus, who is set to join Ghana for the Africa Cup of Nations, alongside Lucas Paqueta.

Despite West Ham’s efforts, including eight crucial saves from goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, they became the first team in 23 Premier League games to fail to score against Brighton.
Manchester United advance to the FA Cup final to take on Manchester City on June 3 by beating Brighton and Hove Albion 7-6 on penalties after the game finished 0-0 after extra-time. Neither side could take their chances in 120 minutes of action before the contest went to penalties. Victor Lindelof was on point with his effort to send the Red Devils through to their second domestic final of the season. Both clubs return to Premier League action next week. As a result, Caicedo will not be part of the Brighton squad to face Liverpool in the FA Cup on Sunday, January 29, but the Seagulls expect him back in training on February 1 and are still counting on him as part of their squad for the remainder of the season. The Seagulls currently sit sixth in the Premier League under Roberto de Zerbi. They are just five points behind fifth-placed Tottenham with two games in hand. Despite their impressive form throughout the majority of the campaign, the Seagulls have been decimated by an array of outgoing transfers. Marc Cucurella, Yves Bissouma, and Neal Maupay all bid farewell to the AMEX Stadium in the summer, whilst Leandro Trossard followed them out of the exit door with his switch to Arsenal earlier this month. 
Amid interest from Arsenal and Chelsea, Moises Caicedo has released expressing his interest to leave Brighton where he has achieved so much success. 
In the statement he shared confirming his desire to leave Brighton, Caicedo disclosed that he wants to become Ecuador’s most successful player ever, as well as bring in a record fee for the club with his transfer. He wrote on Instagram; “I am grateful to [club owner] Mr. [Tony] Bloom and Brighton for giving me the chance to come to the Premier League and I feel I have always done my best for them. I always play football with a smile and with heart. 
“I am the youngest of 10 siblings from a poor upbringing in Santa Domingo in Ecuador. My dream always to be the most decorated player in the history of Ecuador. “I am proud to be able to bring in a record transfer fee for Brighton which would allow them to reinvest it and help the club continue to be successful. “The fans have taken me into their hearts and they will always be in my heart so I hope they can understand why I want to take up this magnificent opportunity.” Arsenal has already stepped up their interest in Brighton’s Moises Caicedo by submitting a bid in the region of £60million. Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi has already said that he believes that Caicedo would be in the right frame of mind to face Liverpool on Sunday, January 29, in the FA Cup.
