Nine dead, one rescued as container falls on a bus in Lagos (Video)

On Sunday, January 29th, nine people were killed in Lagos State when a container fell on a bus at the Ojuelegba bridge.

The bus was reportedly carrying a full load of passengers and nine fatalities were confirmed at the scene. An eyewitness reported that the trailer was trying to prevent the bus from passing when the accident occurred. The Director-General of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu who confirmed the incident in a statement noted that an adult female was rescued alive.

“Upon arrival at the scene, a truck conveying a 20ft container was found to have landed on top of a commercial bus. “Further investigations revealed that the bus was picking up passengers when the truck lost control and fell over the side of the bridge. “After suspending the container load with the aid of the Agency’s forklift and cutting off the top of the bus with light rescue equipment, a single adult woman was extricated alive and taken to the trauma centre. “Final casualty count is 9 fatalities comprising, 4 adult males, 3 adult females,1 boy child and 1 girl child and 1 adult female rescued alive. “The Agency’s heavy-duty Goliath and teams from Onipan and Cappa are on ground. The Agency’s Ambulance, LASG FIRE, FED FIRE, LASTMA and Nigeria Police have been working on this situation which is now concluded. “Further investigation to be carried out by the Nigeria Police on the removal of the barriers on the bridge aimed at preventing trucks from ascending,” the statement said. Late Femi-Ogunrombi Femi Ogunrombi was reported to have passed on in the early hours of January 15th by Dr Husseini Shaibu on Twitter. The late Femi joined Papa Ajasco & Company, created and produced by Wale Adenuga Productions (WAP), to temporarily portray the role of the supposed character between 2005 and 2006 as a stand-in for Abiodun, who presently plays the role.

Femi Ogunrombi, a Nigerian veteran actor and one-time ‘Papa Ajasco’ in the comedy series has reportedly passed on.

Femi Ogunrombi was a quite famous face in the Wale Adenuga comedy series, wand played the role of ‘Papa Ajasco’. The details of Ogunrombi’s death are still vague. “Wizkid’s glory is dead” — DJ Chicken says, showers accolades on Mohbad (Video)

Controversial disc jockey, DJ Chicken disses the superstar Afrobeat singer, Wizkid, while showering accolades on the up-and-coming songwriter, Mohbad.

This comes following the release of Mohbad’s new song ‘Feeling Better’ which seems to be gaining traction. The DJ took to his Instagram story to share a video where he emphasized the talent of the ex-Marlian Records signee. According to DJ Chicken, Mohbad is going to be the new household name in the entertainment industry, unlike veteran singers like Wizkid whose glory is dead.

Man who visited home for Christmas celebration found dead inside his car in Anambra

A 50-year-old Nigerian man identified as Udoka Eze has been reportedly found [email protected] in Anambra State.
Reports gathered that the man had returned to his hometown for Christmas and was found [email protected] in Nawfija community in Anambra State.

According to eyewitnesses who gave accounts of the incident, the man was found [email protected] in his red Toyota Camry car along Umunze road today January 4.
A resident confirmed that the man recently returned for Christmas and was killed by unidentified people.
The spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, also confirmed the incident, adding that the vehicle was found along Umunze road and that the deceased has been taken to the morgue after a doctor pronounced him dead.
“Today 04/1/2023, police recovered an abandoned red Toyota Camry vehicle with reg No AGL 525 GA found along Umunze road.
“Immediate search was conducted in the vehicle, and the lifeless body of a young man with marks of violence and with suspected gunshot injury was found in the car.
“Further inquiries made revealed that the victim is one Mr. Udoka Eze ‘M’ aged 50 yrs from Iyiafor Village, Owerezukala. He was confirmed dead by a doctor when taken to the hospital and the body has been deposited at the morgue. Investigation has since commenced.
“The Command wants to use this opportunity to call on the witnesses of this incident to come forward with information that will assist in the ongoing investigation and patrols have been intensified in the area.”

Abducted son of assassinated Ex-CBN staff found dead

The corpse of the former ex-CBN staff assassinated on New year in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Oreoluwa Fatinoye has been found dead in a river.

It would be recalled that some unknown gunmen broke into the residence of the former staff of CBN within the Ibara Government Reservation Area (GRA), Abeokuta, and murdered the parents of Oreoluwa.
According to rumors, the deceased Oreoluwa was kidnapped alongside their maid in his parent’s residence in Ogun State after Kehinde and Bukola Fatinoye were killed.
On Tuesday, January 3rd, 2022, some fishermen discovered the decomposing body of a young man later identified as Oreoluwa floating on the river.
According to Daily Trust, both hands of the deceased were tied with rope to his back, apparently before he was thrown into the river.
The fisherman, Idowu Taiwo who discovered the body said;
“On Monday, we heard that someone was thrown into this river, but this morning while we were preparing for work, the police approached us and pleaded with us to inform them any time we discover the body.
“But, this morning, around 7.30, we discovered the body while we were checking on our equipment in the river. I called someone to help us get the number of the PPRO to tell him that we have discovered the body.
“Not long after, the police came and we showed them the body after we had brought it to the river bank.”

Jo Mersa, the grandson of Bob Marley has been found dead in a vehicle in the United States on Tuesday, 29th of December, 2022.

Joseph Mersa was a Jamaican-American reggae artist. Sadly, he died at the age of 31. As reported by Daily Mail had reportedly suffered from asthma his entire life.
Although the official autopsy result has not been released, Jo Mersa was said to have died from an asthma attack as he was found unresponsive in the vehicle.
He studied studio engineering at Miami Dade College, and in 2014 he released the EP called Comfortable. He was the grandson of music legend, Bob Marley.

Nigerian Instagram skit-maker, Isbae U has lost his father, Kamala Adebayo, who was a popular Yoruba actor.

The demise of the veteran actor was announced to the public by Nigerian actor, Yomi Fabiyi. Yomi shared a photo of the late Kamala Adebayo, with a caption that reads:
“O di gba kan naa, sir K warrior. *cying emoji* Wabili Kabbar. RIP senior man. I am weak”
The news of Isbae U’s father’s death comes after he gifted him the sum of N1 million on his birthday.
He wrote:
“Gifted My Dad with 1 Million Naira Cash to Celebrate his Birthday, Love you Dad ( Sir K Kamoru)”

Deceased lawyer’s husband narrates how his pregnant wife was shot dead by policeman (Audio)

Gbenga Raheem, the husband of the deceased lawyer, Bolanle Raheem who was shot dead on Christmas day by a police officer has recounted what had occured during the unfortunate incident .
The man said that he and his wife and other family members had gone to a nearby church for service on Christmas day.
After their service at church, they decided to take the whole family out to an eatery since it was Christmas.
On their way back home, they had made a U-turn under the Ajah bridge and encountered some policemen stopping and searching cars.
Gbenga Raheem said that in that moment he heard a loud crack on his wife’s side window, only for him to see that his wife’s chest was gushing with blood from a gunshot wound.
At this moment he ran out and his sister-in-law who was also in the car had ran out ahead of him and held on to the policeman but he cocked his gun at her.

He said that he had to run back to his car to try to offer help to his wounded wife, who he revealed was at this point gasping for breath.
The bereaved man revealed that his sister-in-law was able to drag back the policeman to their car and he was made to enter, whereupon they headed for the hospital.

Popular fashionista Toyin Lawani has disclosed that the lawyer shot dead by a policeman on Christmas Day was pregnant.

Earlier today, NigezieXtreme.com reported that a lawyer was shot near the Ajah bridge while coming back from church with her husband.
Toyin has taken to her Instagram page to disclose that the lawyer who was shot today was pregnant before she was shot. She disclosed that the lawyer was shot in the presence of her husband, child, and her sisters’ kids who were all in the car.
