The woman, identified as Alec, shared a touching tribute to her goddaughter, showcasing the incredible strength the child exhibited in the face of unimaginable tragedy. 11 years ago, the child’s life took a dark turn when she was shot in the face by her own father, an act that also claimed the life of her mother, according to Alec’s account.

Despite the horrifying circumstances, the young survivor has emerged as a beacon of hope and inspiration. In a post made on Saturday, December 9, 2023, Alec expressed her admiration for the resilience displayed by her goddaughter, who is now on the cusp of turning 13. “11 years ago, my baby girl was shot in the face by her father at 1 year old. In a shocking incident that transpired on Friday evening, October 27, a 500 level student at the University of Benin (UNIBEN) was tragically shot and killed. The fatal incident unfolded on the UNIBEN campus, leaving two other students injured. The unfortunate chain of events is believed to have its roots in an earlier altercation that had taken place in Ekiadolor, a community near the university, culminating in the violent shooting incident on campus.

According to several online reports, the nature of the altercation and subsequent shootings is suspected to be related to a cult clash. It is alleged that the assailants involved in the incident may have affiliations with campus-based cult groups. A video that circulated on various social media platforms provided a harrowing visual account of the incident. The video showed a red car riddled with bullet holes and the lifeless body of a man being removed from the vehicle and transferred to the back of a pickup van for transport.

The shocking scene drew a horrified crowd of students who stood in disbelief and distress at the sight. At the scene of the shooting, bullet casings and bloodstains were evident. Abandoned on the ground was a man’s cap, adding to the grim evidence of the incident. In the aftermath of the violence, other students who sustained injuries during the clash shared photos of their wounds on X (formerly Twitter). Recalling the terrifying moment, he continued; “Me, my mom, my dad, and my immediate elder brother. It was four of us in the car. The incident happened in Lagos, Mushin to be precise. They just overtook us and started shooting. Joke Silva emphasized the significance of having studios and sound stages in Nollywood, which would provide suitable environments for filming movies. But, I won’t allow movies to be shot in my home; it won’t happen. “I know the number of people that are brought into a shoot. There may be two people in a scene, but to shoot it, there will probably be about 20 people there. That means 20 people will put their hands on my wall, block the loo, and do other things. “We need to build our studios and sound stages, just like American filmmaker, Tyler Perry, has done. He built one of the biggest sound stages in the world. The thing with sound stages is that there are usually facades. I once shot a movie in France, but all the interior shots were taken in London, United Kingdom. All we did in France were the exteriors shots to give the ambience of that country. Sound stages give one control. A 24-year-old Somali woman has been reportedly shot in the clitoris after a stray bullet entered her room while she was seated in her living room. A report from Daily Mail says that the stray bullets pierced the living room ceiling and hit the woman. The Somali woman was reported to have been transported to a local hospital for treatment. According to a CT scan run on her, it confirmed that the bullet has lodged inside the clitoris after being discharged into the vulva. The Journal of Surgery Case has said that this is the first case where a person has been shot in her clitoris and that the bullet has been successfully removed. “Non-obstetric vulva trauma is an extremely rare occurrence. Typically, the cause of non-obstetric vulvar trauma includes sports-related injuries, straddle injuries, and midline splitting injuries. To the best of our knowledge, this case is unique due to the bullet being retained in the clitoris.” “The treatment of the foreign body is mostly surgical removal. Under local anesthesia, this patient underwent complete surgical removal of the metallic foreign body. During surgical excision, care should be taken not to damage the urethra and other pelvic issues”, doctors at the Erdoğan Hospital in Mogadishu said.

A homeowner in Kansas City, America shot and injured a 16-year-old boy, Ralph Yarl, who mistakenly went to the wrong home to pick up his siblings.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting on the evening of April 13 and arrived to find a teenager who had been shot by a homeowner outside a residence, according to Kansas City Police. Yarl was hit in the head and arm and is currently in stable condition at a hospital.

Following the incident, protesters took to the streets chanting “Justice for Ralph” and “Black lives matter” while holding signs that read “Ringing a doorbell is not a crime” and “The shooter should do the time.” Yarl’s family has retained civil rights attorneys S. Lee Merritt and Benjamin Crump. Chisom Lennard, the Campaign Coordinator of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ahoada-West Local Government Area of Rivers State, was fatally shot by unidentified gunmen who had kidnapped him earlier.

The incident reportedly occurred while Lennard was voting in the governorship and state House of Assembly elections at Ibagwa polling unit 2 ward 10 in Ahoada West LGA. The gunmen, who were wearing police uniforms, had attempted to steal election materials, but Lennard had intervened, leading to his abduction in a swift manner. The State APC Publicity Secretary, Darlington Nwauju, confirmed the tragic incident to the press. Nwauju stated, “He was abducted from his polling unit during the voting process and taken away. Nobody knew where they took him to. It was later in the evening of Saturday that his body was discovered. “He was APC LGA caretaker chairman and was a PhD student at the Rivers State University.” Lennard’s lifeless body was discovered on the Ibueahi-Ubeta road in Ahoada-West LGA of Rivers State, with multiple gunshot wounds and surrounded by a pool of his own blood.

Hours following the death of the South African rapper, Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, known professionally as AKA, a CCTV captured the moment he was shot dead.

AKA was killed along with his close friend, the chef and entrepreneur Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane on their way to a nightclub for a performance as part of his birthday celebration. A CCTV around the premises on Florida Road, Durban, South Africa, showed the moment the rapper stepped out with a couple of friends before the attack. The suspects came out of nowhere and shot AKA and his friend at close range multiple times before taking on their heels. The motive of the killing is being investigated.
